Hey Lisa...I'm so happy you have the ticket booked...that is so amazing! When will he be headed this way?

I didn't e-mail the embassy. I'm really trying not to jinx myself. I'm not even sure how I should word it. Any ideas?

Thanks....Happy Monday everyone!

Amanda,

I would just write and say something like:

Can you please tell me if you have received our paper CR1 file yet? I believe it was received on 4/12/9. (if it was your package that Zarqa found on dhl).

Thank you for your time.

Keep it simple, no biggie :D

He's coming on May 7th!!!!!!

the next steps of the "journey" will be nothing since we'll finally be together :)

OK I used the #3 option and she was like, you want to change your address? LOL. I said no I want to check on my case. I'm guessing 3 is the only way to get to an operator anyway. She put in a service request for me, but I had to hear the lecture about how 6 months is not a promise, just an estimate. :-P And then she tells me not to call back for 45 days. Oh well, at least I did something. I'm thinking the service request reply is going to tell me that my petition is pending. :P

ya, its 3 and then 3 again... Im just glad you got the service request in!! I hope it means good news for you swiftly Childress

"you fondle my trigger then you blame my gun"

Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Me too! Oh was I supposed to push 3 twice? I got a live person immediately after pushing 3 once. It didn't give me another option after that. Anyway, I got to talk to a real person! I'm so excited! LOL. Maybe they'll look at my petition and say "ohhh we forgot about this one! Let's process it ASAP!"

I got an email reply to my service request. I just want to know if this is just their automated reply and they are going to look at my case, or are they confused and they think I'm the beneficiary??? They even state in the email that the caller indicated they are applicant or petitioner, yet their answer says they can't give info to anyone other than petitioner. I"m confused. I've deleted the private information that was in the original email.

On 04/20/2009 you, or the designated representative shown below, contacted us about your case. Some of the key information given to us at that time was the following:

Caller indicated they are:

-- Applicant or Petitioner

Attorney Name:

-- Information not available

Case type:

-- I130

Filing date:

-- 10/14/2008

Receipt #:

-- private

Beneficiary (if you filed for someone else):

-- private

Your USCIS Account Number (A-number):

-- Information not available

Type of service requested:

-- Outside Normal Processing Times

The status of this service request is:

The Privacy Act, 5 USC Sec. 552a, and Vermont Service Center policy prohibits release of information to someone other than the affected party. The affected party is typically the petitioner, applicant or attorney of record. Disclosures of processing times and general procedures relating to certain form types do not fall under the Privacy Act. However, information given to someone other than the affected party, such as the beneficiary, which relates to the specific processing or adjudication of a particular petition/application, is prohibited by the Privacy Act and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) policy.

In addition, only the petitioner or applicant may request a change of address or other changes be made to the record. We cannot process changes requested by the beneficiary or a third party.

If you have any further questions, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.
