will my girls colombian ID be good here for getting into bars and stuff or will she need to get an american ID? if so where can we get an ID for her. thanks for your help. :)

No doubt it's up to the bartender on what kind ID to accept as proof of age.

To get a state-issued ID, she will need to have some document issued by the US govt. that shows she is in this country as a legal alien. The state-issued IDs are given out by the same offices where you get your drivers' license...usually called the DMV

You need to contact your local DMV office to find out what documentation she needs to present in order to get either a state ID or Learner's Permit. Most offices request either an EAD or green card. If this is the case in your state and you haven't received either one, she can only show her passport for now.

I just came back from DMV office. I took my passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate (changed last name) and NOA and they approved me State ID. That is enough in Minnesota, I don't know laws in other states. You might go and ask and just be prepared.
