I just want to make sure that application I 130 for my wife is same as IR-1/CR1??

I just received NO1 from Vermant Service Center after I send application on 07/15/08. They have clear check??

How do you enter spredsheet developed by some of the participants to view detail. As I click on HERE does not alow me to do it. And if some one can tell me how long will take for visa to be approved and what happend after is approved in Vermant Service Centar? Does it go to NVC and how long they keep it. When tehy send it to Consulate...What is the process and timelines step by step???

From the formum it seems that some people got approved within 4 months. USCIS timelines saying that could take 10 months to approved I 130 FOR SPOUSE???

I know it is a lot of questions but I ould really appritiate your coments!!

THANKS!!

Hi,

First off you are IR1/CR1 unless you file an I-129f after you get NOA1 then you are K3.

You can check with you bank about the check but if you have NOA1 it is most likely cleared.

There are 2 spreadsheets. One is based on your timeline. If you complete you timeline it is filled out automatically. The second is done by a fourm member. Look for the posting about the IC1/CR1 spreadsheet and post that you want to be included in it.

There is a great document on the forum that describes the entire process. But to summarize, after you get NOA2 your application goes to the NVC. If you follow the instructions for online processing you can usually finish in the NVC in a few weeks. IF you file by mail it could take longer, just how long depends on how quickly you send in the forms and pay the fees. Once the fees are cleared and the forms are filed your application goes to the consulate. It could take a few months to get an interview date. Check the timelines on this site to get an idea on what the waiting period is for your country.

VSC is taking a very long time to process applications right now. It has been 5 months since my NOA1 and it could be 2 or 3 months more before my application is gotten to. IR1/CR1 is not a priority right now. It seems employment and K1 are the priority right now. If you want to speed up the process you might be better off filing for a K3. It is more expensive and takes longer to get a green card but your spouse should get here faster. I would expect that 7 to 10 months is possible for NOA2 unless they get much faster. Just be patient. My first filing for my I-130 was last July. It took me 7 months just to get NOA1 back when the fees increased. 7 to 10 months is not that long considering and your spouse will have her green card when she arrives without having to adjust status.

I130 is a long painful process, not only at service center in the STATES, but in general the IR1/CR1 is the painful road. if you can wait go with it but i suggest go with the K3 visa is a little more expensive but it faster than IR1/CR1 right now.
