hi guys,

i just filed for the I-485 petition(Adjustment of status based on employement) on 2 May, 2008.

could anyone tell me what is the next step, since the lawyer told me they supposed to send to me the NOA after two weeks, but unfortunatily i recieved nothing from them.

and as so he told me they gonna ask me to accomplish the biometrics after two months from the filing date; and still waiting for anything.

by the way i have SSN, because i was married couple years ago and i filed for the EAD and SSN and they assigned me the EAD and SSN, but later i got divorced and they cancelled the renewal of my EAD but i still have my SSN.

now im filing for AOS based on my employment, and still waiting for further instructions.

please if anyone knows anything just reply to me, and i would appreciate any assistance in advance.

hi

thank you for being interested.

actually i came illegaly to this country which means without any visa; in 2000

in 2001 the congress issued a new law to let the illegal people to fix thier status in the country; and they asked me to pay penalty ($1000), and i paid that ammount , after that i got married;then i applied for work permit and the ssn.

fortunatily they gave me these documents.

after couple of years i got divorced, therefore they refused the renewal of my work permit.

in 2006, i applied again for the "immigrant petition for alien worker", and i got the approval for that petition

by then the USCIS have told me that i could file for the I-485(AOS) because i have the approval for the alien worker document. and in May, 2008 i applied for the I-485 , and still waiting for further instructions.

thats all.
