Police record? Please help

I have questions regarding police record for my wife to prepare for I-130 application

She is Canadian resident who is currently living and has been living in Canada in the past 2 years.

Her citizenship is Vietnamese.

I think her case will be approved within next month.

Should she start request for the police record in Canada?

Is the police record in Vietnam required?

She still has the copy of police record in Vietnam (not the original one). She still kept it during her immigration process to Canada

two years ago.

I'm not sure if the different detachments of the RCMP have different rules, but MY local office won't honor a request for a police certificate until I actually have something from the NVC to present to them proving I need it. Only thing I'm missing for my DS-230 package (not that I need it anytime soon).

As for the one from Vietnam, I can't pretend to know for sure. Seems to me that if it covers the entire period in which she lived there it should be fine though.

I am fairly sure that the police cirtificate expires after 1 year, so she will need a new one from Vietnam. And she will need one from Canada also.

10-28-08 Visa Received

11-01-08 POE

That was fast!

Got to love the fact my wife was preggy and even with a RFE @ NVC she was still here in under 5 months!

Unfortunately , you must to sugmit Police record from Vietname.

Same case with me.

I have been living in Hungary for 5 years but I still have to submit my Indonesian Police certificate.

It will take longer :crying:

Case complate : August 27th 2008 , Interview date will on Oct 29th 2008

Package forwarded to Local embassy : Sept 11th 2008

Package received : Sept 15th 2008

Receive interview mail : Sept 30, 2008

Medical check : Oct 1st 2008 passed

Vaccination : Oct 1st 2008 , OK got 2 shots

New Interview date : Oct 21st 2008 VISA APPROVED AND ISSUED

POE at Phoenix : NOV 28th smooth

Receive Welcome letter and SSN : Dec 17th 2008

Green card received : Dec 22th 2008
