The thing is that things at the Wal-Mart are soooo cheap that lower income people buy stuff they don't need. Making them poorer. Well off people buy stuff they don't need either but they can afford it. This is just an observation.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

You never know when there might be a Q-tip shortage, so you have to stock up. LOL

I am pretty ignorant on the whole wal mart thing.....but seeing that so many ppl feel that Wal Mart is capable of bringing the whole of America down on it's economic knees....isn't there any kind of government body that actually looks into the practices and effects of larges stores like the 'evil Wal mart' in the States?

There are several, like the labor department or Congress. But given that Walmart is also a huge lobbyist and campaign donator, chances are slim that any legislation will be approved right now...

nope, don't know where Vale is. I've probably been thru it, but didn't notice. Its a fairly big state! We live about half an hour west of Hickory in Morganton.

You are more likely to over buy at Costco or Sam's Club than WalMart. Oh look dear a 55 gal drum of bacon bits and it works out to only 29 cent a pound. What a deal. You go home and get the pick up and hand truck. LOL

Morganton is right BY Vale...(it's west too) but it's like a teeny, tiny town too... been there loads of times too...I just loved it! :) (sorry, meant to quote Reba here, but then went and did fast reply..oops!) :)

BTW..bad for you or NOT, Q-tips are essential to life!!!! If I run out, I'm in a panic!! M.
