The New Wisconsin Meetup Thread

Hi everyone! We still want to have a meetup sometime end of February or early March...as it turns out, early March would work better for us now as we have some family coming up to visit the last weekend in February. Mellie mentioned March 10th (or the Saturday closest). How does that work for those of you who might wish to come. Green Bay or Appleton is fine with me...anyone? Michelle & Craig

Yep Saturday 10th would work for me and it's actually my birthday on 11th !

There's going to be certainly more nice places to go in Green Bay but Appleton would be ok too.

I'm thinking of the Titletown Brewery and also there's another Micro brewery opposite that I can't remember the name of and also St Brendan's is excellent

All have good food too

Oh ! Curleys is a nice bar too and it's right inside Lambeau Field if anyone wants to visit the Stadium !

Well ok..here's a plan: So we CAN tentatively start planning, why don't we just SAY it's MARCH 10th and whoever can come, can come. So far,everyone who replied in the last thread seemed either ok with whatever or could make that date(Mellie & Scott don't have the kids that weekend, we don't have relatives here, Mercury was up for anything, Alan will be back from the UK...) So...

March 10th it is. I don't really care if it's Green Bay or Appleton..maybe we can have a little poll on this thread and ya'all can decide? Only living 2/3 1/2 hrs a way from each, respectively, I still haven't been to either city more than a few times. Craig & I want to visit the Fox River Mall in Appleton,but we could always nip down there Sunday or something..or the Friday night before and stay there that night! So.......what do you all think about the WHERE? M. PS..if we do choose Green Bay, maybe we can leave it up to you to decide (Badgerbabe..soooo sorry, can't rem. name just now and I SHOULD know...DOH!!!) where we could stay(anyone who wants to or anything) somewhere nice or whatever...or where we could possibly go...you would know the area better. I was hoping to find a 'British pub' somewhere, and I see a few listed under Milwaukee but don't know about Green Bay.....anyway... M>

The closest I think we can get to a British pub is St Brendans which is Irish but they do have Beamish which you can't get anywhere els that I know around here.

Maybe a central place to meet up would be Lambeau Field - Curleys Bar upstairs as it's easy to find as it's signposted and then we can go from there.

What do you think ????

Michelle - went up to the appleton Mall yesterday and it took me about 25 mins from here on the Highway 41 so it's not far. There's plenty of hotels nearby or you could stay here in Green Bay and go on Sunday

Well, I really REALLY wanted to do this, but don't guess it's going to work out for us after all..you all will just have to go ahead and do what you like with it as Craig is leaving for England in a month(about a week from now) and I'm not really in the frame of mind to come on my own..have fun!!! M.

just been on a road trip to Galena IL

Great hotel there called the Irish Cottage - proper Irish pub there

Recommened if you're looking for somewhere not too far to visit !
