hello

I received the NOA2 from California a couple weeks ago followed by the letter from NVC that stated my fiance should expect a packet soon.

I have a couple questions

1. What actually is in the packet? Couldnt find what exactly US embassy in Delhi needs on this site or the NVC site.

2. Do I need to start collecting the docuements (bank statement etc) for affidavit of support now or should i wait so that the information is more current as close to the interview date as possble?

Thanks for your response in advance.

Tell your fiancee to call the Consulate on monday between 10 - 12 in the morning (she will have to try a few times) and ask if they have received her case (NWD**********) and then just fill out the DS230 part 1 and submit it at the counter outside the consulate. Ask them what time she can come and do it coz they are only open at certain times. Take a photo ID just in case they want to see it and keep NWD number handy.

Once she submits DS230. Thats pkt 3 taken care of. She will not be getting that anymore. You can start preparing the docs for Affidavit of support in the meantime and she start preparing the evidence she is going to submit to the VFS. After a week or so call the Consulate to check if they have alloted an interview date to her and then just go and collect pkt 4 from the counter.

pkt 4 is important coz it has her appointment letter, Instructions for medical and a list of documents that she will submit to the VFS 15-10 business days before the interview. It also has the forms that she needs to submit (they are expired forms mostly so my suggestion would be to print the forms from the Consulate website) like DS157, DS156, DS230 and DS156K

As soon as she has the interview letter. Call 1 of the doctors on the list on pkt 4 and make an appointment for her medical and she's all set for the interview.

She will also have saved a few weeks that the Consulate will take to send the pkts and will hopefully get an early interview date this way.

All the best to both of you..

Thanks for your answer - she did go and collect it personally - and saved some time.

Now another question - she got form DS156 and DS157 and DS230. It also says packet 4 somewhere on what she got. DS 230 is all they are looking for? The guy at the counter told her to fill em all up and give it to him - but he was closing - so she has to go back.
