Foreign women vs. American women

yeah, there's a reason for that.

You're not trying to get opinions... you're trying to start a stupid thread because you think hot-headed American women will come protest in defense... carried over from the 'where did she go thread'

Some of us 'fat, lazy, self-absorbed' American women are a little smarter than that.

It's really not our fault you 'gentlemen' can't get any in America... leave us alone, mmmmk? ;)

Well it isn't anything to do with looks. But now a days, the AVERAGE american woman is so caught up in herself that her family isn't important. They are so worried about TRYING to prove that they can do anything that a man can do.

If this is not you, then you none of this applies to you.

Oh come one Steve...you know that ain't true! Sure it's about looks...*most* American guys want thin and beautiful, which was mentioned somewhere in that loooooong opening post of yours. :D Thank the gods I am NOT an average American woman trying to prove I'm just as good as a man.

Besides, I'm an honourary Canadian. :D

OK, Yes, at first any relationship has alot to do with looks. This is the reason that we are initially attracted to a person. We see them across the room or something, like the way they look and start a conversation. If we did not like the way they look then we probably would not start the conversation in the first place.

But as we get to know the person and the relationship grows, we get to know their heart and their personality. This is what is most important!!! This is what we fall in love with!!! Looks are not forever. Eventually we get wrinkles, the hair turns grey, the boobs are hanging down. Maybe the body changes due to having children. But the heart does not change, if it is bueatiful, it is bueatiful forever.

This is why I fell in love with my wife. Yes, I think she is the most bueatiful woman in the world. Yes, her looks are amazing, but the most bueatiful thing about her is her heart!! She has an incredible personality and the biggest heart of anyone I have ever met. And this is what I fell in love with, and why I love her sooo much.

This is why I want to grow old with her, long after our looks have faded. Continue to stop while we are walking and give her a big kiss and tell her how much I love her. I want to take care of her and make every day of her life the happiest day of her life.

So, yes, looks are important at first. But if you marry someone just for their looks, it's not going to be a good marriage and it isn't going to last.

Now, that being said. In my opinion. There does seem to be a cultural difference between the typical american woman and the typical woman from many other countries. American women seem to be more career oriented, while, in my opinion, Latin American women seem to be more family oriented. It is all what you are looking for. When I met my wife, I was working in Buenos Aires and not looking for anything or thinking about any of this. But since then, I have noticed cultural differences in the way they think. Not that one is better or worse, it's all in what you are looking for in your life.

the problem with american woman is the way american men treat them. i see it hear all the time.

american womans family is poor, american man tells american woman....tell them get off their lazy ### and get a job. foreign womans family is poor and american man sends money.

american woman wants to stay home and take care of the house and family and american man tells her to get a job and help out. he is not going to support a lazy ### woman. foreign woman wants to stay home and do the wifely thing and man says ok.

thats the problem....different set of standards.

That's actually a pretty a good observation. To be fair, however, it's not all the man's fault in that scenario. Women fought long and hard for the "right to work" just like any man, so nowadays, men expect their wives to have careers.

In Western nations, we tend to identify ourselves by our jobs more often than we realize. What's one of the first things people ask when meeting? "What do you do?" When someone is getting to know you, whether that person will end up being a friend, future family or your spouse, they're going to ask about your job very early on if you live in a Western country.

Countries that aren't as industrialized tend to place a lesser overall value on career and stronger emphasis on family. These nations rarely ask this question as often as we're used to hearing it. If and when someone does, it's unusual for it to be one of the first questions asked.

Do note that I'm not stating which is "right" or "wrong." I can't say since it's a cultural issue and more to the point, I don't really care. My wife and I are happy with the way our situation is now. If my wife wants to work (and she does), then that's great; if she decided to be a stay-at-home mom at some point (assuming we have children), then that's fine too. I'll be flexible and help whenever possible, but it's really her choice in the matter, since it'll be her who has to make the major life adjustment.

I don't need to read this entire thread to see that this was written by a man that can not seem to find a good american woman to marry him. I wonder why?

Yes, some women did fight long and hard for the right to work. That doesn't mean every American with a ####### is duty bound to want to work.
