According to the published Timeline for the Texas Service Center, they are currently working on I-129F petitions with a Receipt Notification Date of February 3, 2006. This was as of May 8. So essentially we are looking at a three month backlog. Am I correct in my understanding or am I missing something here? Since we have not received our Receipt Notification yet, it is safe to say we are in for a very long wait, yes? :clock:

As far as I know, TSC is forwarding K1 petitions to CSC. You will notice that TSC and CSC timelines are identical, for this reason.

I have also noticed that although TSC/CSC is reportedly working on Feb 3 petitons, several applications dated late Feb and even early Mar have been approved. So some people got approved in 2 months. However with IMBRA stuff going, they may slow down.

lets hope for the best.

On April 21, the date they received my paperwork, TSC (a.k.a. CSC) had the same processing date of 2/3/06. When the web site was updated on May 8th, that date did not change. I'm hoping it was just a clerical error with the person updating the web page.

Unfortunately, you cannot rely on the TSC or CSC dates.

If you got your confirmation in hand look at the bottom of the front side and you can see the address it came from. If it's in Texas, then you're probably being processed at the TSC. If it's California, then it's the CSC.

From what everyone's been saying the TSC's been sending I-129Fs to the CSC.

I sent ours to the TSC per directions; I got a USPS return receipt from them; then the next thing I know, it's at the CSC per my NOA1. And to make matters worse, the TSC got it on 3/1 [receipt date] and the notice date is 3/7 which if used as the marker date puts us in the dreaded IMBRA problem.

And all that when it was received by the correct processing center before the date and processed by the CSC in about 61 days from the CSC receipt to NOA2.

As far as the dates go, it seems the TSC and CSC are not accurate.

Also, after reading much on VJ and other BBSes and web searches, trying to get accurate information and draw accurate conclusions about the USCIS and it's process is almost futile in many aspects.

If you go to the web site apexvisa.com I think's the url I found and go to the mistakes link you'll read about how seeminly innocent questions on forms are not really what they're trying to find out plus they don't tell you what they want.

I'd assumed the very same things: information posted by the USCIS is accurate; the information they ask for is straightforward. Experts on this process predating nine-one-one seem to all be in agreement that it's not what we would think.

So, this all evokes the comment: "go figure!"

This is correct. TSC forwards ALL K visa petitions to CSC for processing and have been for quite a long time. When our petition went through Cali last year, it took 2 months from NOA1 to NOA2. Not too bad. I also see a lot of IMBRA stuff going on and you are probably going to have to deal with that adding to your time. Also...none of the service centers keep their processing times updated online...they do make a good effort though. I never gave that online processing timeline any weight.

Our NOA2 took 100 days and I think now with IMBRA things may be taking a little longer. Texas doesnt handle K1's they all go to CSC not that the processing dates are accurate ;)

100 days to NOA2?? Oh my gosh, that is long.

I hate it that IMBRA is affecting all of our processing times. Actually I hate it that this thing even passed congress. I understand the seriousness of it, but it is sad that a few bad apples spoil it for everyone else.

We seriously need more service centers...the regional idea isn't working out very well, unless your petition goes to Nebraska. Not fair at all to the rest of the country that is takes longer because you are located in a different region.

Good luck to everyone waiting on their NOA2. Hopefully things will speed up once the IMBRA has been completely integrated with the initial processing of petitions.
