Is it advisable to wait out the processing time in your country of residence,or can I fly closer to the us so my fiance can visit more often and come back to the uk when and if the k1 is approved?????

Yes you can as long as you don't overstay your visa. At POE you may have to prove you still have ties to your home country and has no intentions of staying here until your K1 is approved.

That's what I did. I moved to Mexico, which is much closer to Dallas.

BIG downside though. Had to fly to London for my medical. They will NOT schedule your interview for the same trip. I came back after the medical, Renee visted me many, many times and, I missed the date! My application expired, mainly due to all of the paperwork sitting at my parents house in England!

Now we have to re-file!!!!!!

My advice would be. Yes move closer but make the new Country your Country of Residence. It'll be much, much easier.

I would advise you not to move, only because it is much much simpler, depends on what your life is like in the UK I guess, I have my house, college & job etc here which gave me plenty of extra cash to save up for the big move .

Plus, wouldnt you also have to pay for 2 police certificates?, one for the uk and one for the country you move to

If you do decide to though, I would follow Paul's advice!
