Thanks Lotto you are my Hero here! i feel like i know you in person! :) i'm not complaining because i knew that was going to be hard but i really want that wedding and it seems like is not going to happen anytime soon :( my civil ceremony was nice though everybody was like if this is the civil wedding what should we expect from the religious one.

:star::star::star:

Past is past, however, I wanted to say this, probably one who reads this may benefited.

If you could have postponed your religious ceremony, you could have postponed the civil cermoney too and apply for K-1 (Finance/ee) visa which is the fastest and the beneficiary could be in the U.S within 2-3 months time.

I know in India, most of the families will not agree my above opinion since they are scared to give their daughter to an "unknown" person. I had suggested it to my wife and got a negative response. But later, after couple of months of I-130 filing, my wife herself told me we didn't listen you... I was the happiest man in the world when I heard that :star::star::star:

Hey loto I was told the same thing years ago that the fiance visa only took a short time, and i see it too, but not for us, our case was approved and our case was sent back to the US and was lost and not found until after it expired. so we had to start the process over again, but we were told by a state officials office that once the application didn't succeed then we can't file it again, so we got married and we wait,

its so hard to wait , but its harder to wait when you see people from other countries getting approved so quickly

and they have the nerve to post and complain that there cases are moving slowly

I was just on the phone with my husband, opened my email and found nothing from CRIS, then opened the USCIS site and still no approval , no touches, nothing at all

and with each page opened I became more sad, my husband says if our GOD wants it now it will happen now, which I understand, and I understand that because we have waited we have grown even closer, also I know its in GOD's hands if we are to be together in life, but to be together now is in the hands of immigration and for some reason they are taking forever in our case, it doesn't make any sense,

Loto about something else, have you seen the post on here where there are a bunch of us with a last touch of 2/24/08 that was the last any of us have heard from VCS, do you think they could have lost our files and what should we do, do you have any idea?

Loto like someone else posted its like I know you in person, I am sure all my questions have driven you crazy, so I apologize

I really hope your trip to Canada this weekend will be wonderful for you both

Take care

Kathleen

Your story is really a touchy one. Normally, USCIS will not lose the file. If it loses, it would be very rare case. You're right, when you are apart, the affection and the attachment will grow even more, asking other spouse's whereabouts, anxieties, care etc...

Even my last touch was 02/24/2008 before my approval on 04/12/2008. That was a magic date - 02/24/2008. The reason was - USCIS had clogged with pile of applications due to the fee increase in the last July. And they were neither able to mail out the receipt notices, nor the I-130 entry into their computer system since that July. They were pouring the clog remover since July and finally the last drop happened around that magic date. That's why suddenly everybody got touched on that date. Nevertheless, some luck folks' files including mine, paid attention on this process and approved. That's all!

So, the bottom line is - you need to wait (though easier to be said) again...

I am basically impatient.. I do get easily irritated. The type that, if you said today then do it today person.

This journey is kinda hard for me. Imagine that my whole life is at the hands of people which I do not have direct contact. I mean, in the office you could resolve things because you are in contact with people in the business circle but in VISA case  .... I hate it!

Most of the people including me are like yours... But the degree varies, that's all... You have to be impatient in this immigration process, nevertheless, in the actual life, patience (anger management) is needed for success... Whenever I become angry, I was the loser...

It turns out that my being impatient gets good results career wise.. :P

That's great CaNdiD wiTcH :star::star::star:

I am feeling really down about the visa process today - my heart sinks every day when I log into the USCIS website and see that 2/24/08 date. I really feel as though they have lost my case under a desk somewhere.

And just for all those people who seem to think that cases that take a long time are due to some problem or 'issue' with the application - I can't think of anything which would cause this for us. I'm a highly educated professional woman from the UK - no previous marriages, no criminal history - we haven't had any RFEs so it's not because we have filled the form out badly. I really believe they haven't even picked it up yet. So being told "some cases just take longer than others" is absolute rubbish. I really don't understand how applicants after us are getting approved when we haven't even had one touch since the case went into the system.

Sorry - vent over - but I am at the end of my patience and feeling really stressed about this today.

I want for my husband to come home and we live a long, loving , & peaceful life together......insha allaah!!!

We have only a few days left now till the interview and all we & our families have been doing is praying that everything will go smoothly and he will get the visa and insha allaah not have to be put on AP for a long period of time or at all for that matter. ( maybe some wishful thinking there)

This process can either break you or it can make you even that much more stronger with your husband/wife and Alhumdulilah..........ours is stronger. We have learned patience, ( or I should say me.....since I have never had such patience as now), we communicate better and I have seen changes in my husband and myself during this process. It takes its toll on you, but together, we can make it through anything.

It has been over a year since we started this process and we hope that the light at the end of OUR tunnel........will be in a few days--- July 31st!!!! insha allaah.........

We just have to stay strong and have our faith in Allah!!!

please send some of your blessings/prayers our way............July 31st is OUR BIG DAY!!!!!!!!!!!

Aisha

I know Aisha, July 31st is your day :star: Interview is a piece of cake, if you answer the basic questions properly and provide all documents asked... Don't worry, all our wishes and Allah's bless are with you and family !

I see you're an Oct 2007 filer, you will have to worry about now... why don't you mail a request letter (Overnight delivery) direct to the USCIS explaining your case with receipt# to approve your case since it is very well passed the timeline ??? Who knows what piece of ####### brings the approval...

You may add a foot note - "If my file is missed, please inform me, so that I want to re-file it"

Loto my case is almost exactly like Isma's case, we were married on the same day and our other dates are just two days apart from each other, than my case is passed the timeline, but in Vermont they say its not past the timeline, i just got off the phone with them

maybe i just don't know the right thing to say to them to get them to give me a better answer than call the 1- 800 number

and if we do send a letter to USCIS than what address do we send it to , should it be VSC where our applications are?

thanks for your help

kathleen
