If it's IMBRA, and you have not used a marriage broker, and if the USC has no record of spousal abuse... your case should be just fine.. you just have to sit in a waiting period...

Do you really think we should phone our congressman? I thought there is no point to phone them if only 1 week have passed.. My interview was also cancelled from DHS. And I know it’s because of IMBRA. .. We were thinking about to call our congressman but I’m still not sure if we should..

Honestly I dont think the congressman is going to be able to DO anything if the petition has only JUST been recalled - if the law says the checks have to be done for anyone with NOA1 after march 6th, then thats what they will have to do..

If tho, they start taking a LONG time to get thru them then yeah - maybe someone like a senator or congressperson could expedite things..(they can't prevent the checks being made tho) guess it depends entirely how 'long' they estimate the delay will be.

Absolutely she should get the senator and congressman involved........Lets remember......she did not just get her appointment cancelled....

She WAS APPROVED and 2 days from picking up her VISA they tell her the APPROVAL WAS RECALLED!!!!

Now that is complete GARBAGE!!!!!!!

I could understand if she was just waiting for the appointment to be rescheduled but she was APPROVED and she quit her job ect......this is not constitutional and the congress and senate need to move this ahead for her......It just angers me that they think they can just toss people around.......

Yes, I'm in the mess situation now... don't know what to do... except for waiting... My USC fiance have try to contact 2 senator and congress office... yet have not heard back from them as of today....

I hope the issue will sort out by my last days of work on Jun 15 (I need to serve for 1 month after resign)...

It is boiling and burning on us everyday now... I feel hopeless while trying to do something and yet don't know what the something that they need from us...

Just to share what I have:

I call my Embassy today, the consular told me the law will impact all the petition after Mar 6, 2006, the recall is worldwide, this does not only impact me, at this point he only have limited information about the new law and advice us to call USCIS to follow-up, the limited information he has about IMBRA:

The International Marriage Broker Regulation

(IMBRA) was signed by the President January 5th of this

year. A 60-day deadline, March 5, 2006, was established

for DHS to begin asking K-1 fianci(e) petitioners for

their criminal background information. DHS did not meet

the deadline for collecting additional information. Some

petitions filed after the deadline were approved in error

under the old procedures and sent through the National

Visa Center (NVC) to embassies and consulates for processing. Those cases need to be sent back for additional review/processing to rectify any possible errors made.

The consular also told me that this recall was initiated within the last week. It may take some time before USCIS and NVC is able to respond to inquiries regarding the case and the many others like it.

They will contact me as soon as they got any new update....

I know you must feel angry and upset. I would too in your place. But getting congressman involved isn't going to change the fact that USCIS HAS to comply with the law that was passed. Thems the breaks.

Can you not talk to your employer about your resignation? Most places here would allow to you rescind your resignation. This way you keep your job while you wait.

As I said.. I sympathis with you, but you know something, there's alot of people on this forum that's been waiting ALOT longer then you have to get their visa approved and moved over to be with their loved one's. 2006-03-09 was when you first send in your paperwork... I sent mine in back in Dec of 2005. I'm sure there are others still further back then mine waiting.

Your not the only one in the waiting club. Stressing over it isn't going to help any. It's better that it happened now, instead of flying over and being denied entry at the POE because it was no longer a valid visa.

We appointed a attorney back in May 2005 for our K1 petition, they scew up our case... We have been waiting for more than a year now... Our engagement was back in July 2003.... It have been a long long long waiting...

My fiance call VSC today to check if there have any instruction on what they need - they still got no answer

I will need to go to my embassy today to pick-up my passport without the K1 VISA... they has canceled my existing tourist B1 VISA last Friday when they approved my K1 VISA.... Now got none and stuck...

The embassy would not and can not hold on my passport, they need me to collect it back while waiting for the issue to sort out....

You should really be ashamed of yourself. When something this awful happens to someone, they are coming to this forum for answers, advice and maybe a little sympathy...To take the position that YOU or OTHERS have been waiting longer so somehow this makes it rational is complete ####### if you ask me....

Don't get me wrong...I too have been waiting since early February and I really think the 3 service centers need more equitibility in how they approve cases. However, for you to say that there is ALOT of people that have been waiting ALOT longer is bullsh!t and pure ignorance on your part. And for you to tell her to that she is not the only one in the waiting club is just stupid. THERE IS NOT ONE OTHER PERSON THAT GOT APPROVED AND HAD THEIR VISA REVOKED AFTER THE FACT...........So......she is NOT like anyone else and your attitude sucks.......OHHHHH you irritated me with this post.....
