It sounds like IMBRA - I see your NOA1 date is after march 6th so that would make sense..even though its devestating to get it right at the end here :(

Its just a small matter though - shouldnt cause MASSIVE delay - either the Service center has to run a check on the USC (for any prior spousal battery etc) or they get them to complete a form and do it - not sure which but IMBRA isnt just for people who met thru marriage brokers.

Hope its finalised soon for you (F)

Okay....this is the biggest ####### I have ever seen!!!! There is no possible humanity to cancelling the issuance of the Visa AFTER the appointment and AFTER the approval. Especially since this is someones life they are playing with. She quit her job, probably purchased plane tickets and now this..................UNBELIEVABLE!!!

Wendy...your fiance, the USC..needs to walk into his local congressman's office tomorrow and request some answers and help!!!!

I am SOOOO Sorry this happened Wendy...........

I second that!!!!

This is really unbelievable, they should not even mess with your case at this point!!!!! SO WRONG!

I really feel for you, since my fiances interview was cancelled too, 3 days before the interview itself.

Try and hang in there -- you won the visa, right, so maybe these delays will only take a few more days and they can issue it to you.

Someone at Vermont SC should have their head handed to them. They knew this law was coming up and they just kept spitting out the NOA2's. In my mind it is better to have your petition sitting in a service center than have it go throught the whole embassy process only to have it recalled!! I have a list of petitions that I am charting in another thread and other than one from CSC (and that recall was recended a day or two later) all of the recalls are from Vermont. False hope is WORSE than no hope!!!!

And you were so happy the other day...

:cry::cry:

It's going to be ok. You guys were already approved so you'll sail through this. I'm just so very very sorry for your delay. Hang in there.

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

The Embassy told us to call the USCIS.

My fiance has been on the phone the whole morning now...

After multiple transfer of the call, he managed to spoke to someone... the person know nothing about the new requirement! My fiance request to spoke to a manager or supervisor, they also know nothing about the recall or new law.... we are completely lost...

We are trying to get in touch with the Senator, he told us he heard noting about this new law and told us to write the detail and fax it to him

Does anyone know who we can call on what they need from us?

Thank you...

I would have your fiance GO DOWN o your local congressman's office after you fax the leter to the Senator. I would include all of the approval notices....NOA1, NOA2, the letter from NVC with case number, the approval from the embassy and a letter authorizing them to call on your behalf. Also...a brief letter with your history...how you met......the chronological order of events from start to approval....

I suggest going into the office because the impact is greater when they actually SEE you in person and realize a human exists behind all the paper!!!!

Remember to tell them that you were basicaly COMPLETE with the process and just waiting for the Visa.....tell them that you quit you job, made travel arrangements ect............

STAY ON THE PHONE and Call them ALL DAY!!!!!!!!!!Go to the Congress office TODAY!!!!!!!!

I agree -- at least if it's at the SC, you know that a certain standard procedure is being followed and one thing was systematically lead to another. With everything being sent everywhere not only does it lead to terrible disappointment and sadness, but it's like -- totally outside of normal, expected procedure and much more uncertain -- which is like, completely torturous.
