Police Certificates/Passport Office Verification - For Rajee, Loto, Bani

Hey guys,

Since Rajee, Loto and Bani are either going through or have gone through this process through India, I would like to ask them or any other experienced people from the New Delhi, India embassy. If anyone else reading this thread has soon other info that will help me please dont hesitate to post. My questions are as follows:

1. What is PCC? I read this somewhere but I am not sure what this is. Does this mean that my wife has to get something from the regional passport office? My wife has lived in punjab and gurgaon so does she have to get it from both the chandigarh passport office and n.delhi passport office?

2. Do I have to provide anything else besides the police certificates from the places where she has lived.

3. What does the police certificate describe. Can anyone one of you tell me what the contents are of that certificate so I know what to expect.

3. How long in advance should I get all of this? Is it recommendable to get it around when the time is near?

4. Rajee - My wife is from punjab and New Delhi and it appears to me that your wife is from the same area also. Can you please suggest anything else that I should keep in mind.

Guys, I just want to prepare myself in advance. Your feedback, as always, is greatly appreciated.
