As long as you have proof of meeting and ongoing documents to support the relationship you will be fine. Good luck.

Nigeria??

I think it will be a problem, unlike the rest here.

Be well prepared for the interview. Make sure they understand that it is a valid relationship. Be prepared to explain why you have only met once.

I finally got rid of the never ending money drain. I called the plumber, and got the problem fixed. I wish her the best.

Actually I didn't, I was just attempting to be sarcastic about the (non existant) word 'wount'.

My sarcasm skills are slipping today!

Anyway the fox is right, be well prepared for the interview.

Usually this would probably not be a problem, however I believe applicants from some African nations including Nigeria have more of a struggle through this process generally, than other nationalities. Hopefully this will not be the case for you

yes that's why I had asked how long the visit was...

if a USC visits once for 4 days and comes back engaged... that's raises an eyebrow more than if the USC visits for 2-3 weeks and comes back engaged... I'm not sure what goes on at the consulate in Nigeria... but I have heard that they are a little strict on applicants.

Be prepared for it to BE a problem, and it won't be.... if that makes any sense.

Don't get defensive, just justify it.

8-30-05 Met David at a restaurant in Germany

3-28-06 David 'officially' proposed

4-26-06 I-129F mailed

9-25-06 Interview: APPROVED!

10-16-06 Flt to US, POE Detroit

11-5-06 Married

7-2-07 Green card received

9-12-08 Filed for divorce

12-5-08 Court hearing - divorce final

A great marriage is not when the "perfect couple" comes together.

It is when an imperfect couple learns to enjoy their differences.
