Thanks everyone.

Just a clarificatrion: I am the petitioner, and my wife in India is the beneficiary.

I will try getting PCC once again using the following. Please let me know if you have any other recommendation.

1) NOA2 Approval letter

2) DS-3032 Choice of Agent I received

3) James' Shortcut Cover Letter

4) IV Fee Bill Receipt, and barcode cover sheet

5) Copy of the U.S. Passport of the Petitioner

6) DS-230 Instructions, and Checklists

Am I leaving anything out?

PatientPaidOff, or anyone else reading this post, I would appreciate it very much if you can provide me with any difference between the new format of the DS-230 cover letter and James' Shortcut. Please help!

You may write a request letter too, if you want, to the police authority, signed by you. I think, you're all set!

Did your wife get the PCC?

this is the word (PCC) i afraid of....actually i did some mistake while applying in chandigarh..although it is easy to get PCC in chandigarh...no need to give any extra paper rather than 300 rupee, your passport and EAP-2 form(miscellaneous).

May 5th, 2008 Immigrant Visa Fee bill generated

Aug 17th, 2008 expected POE.

Aug 27th, 2008 Social Security Number received.

Roza, your PCC is straightforward as I outlined - Rs.300, Passport and Application form (EAP-2). My wife did exactly the same at Cochin. There was no issues from the passport office and they issued it on the same day.

Bir09, give me your email address to email you the format of my DS-230 checklist for your PCC application.

Roza, My wife will try again next week with an army of documents. It remains to be seen if we get a PCC. The process was seamless up to this point, and here we are, trying dealing with the bureaucracy in India.
