don't wait for NVC automated response!

I just found out today that the operator can provide you with your NVC # even if it's not in the automated phone-answering system yet!

Of course, this doesn't mean that it's been forwarded to the embassy yet or that a DS-3032 has been generated, etc., but at least you can know whether it has been received as opposed to still sitting somewhere in the USCIS service center.

Speaking to the operator today, she said they were just entering it into the system as she was speaking (when I asked about the DS-3032) and stated that I should expect to receive it in 3-4 weeks! I guess she was referring to the long mail delivery time to the Philippines if we were to wait for the paper version?

Does anyone know whether I can ask my spouse to mail her DS-3032 already now that she already has prepared waiting for NVC????? I mean the DS-3032 must be imminent right?

My cases were approved on July 14 and received at NVC this week.

No she can't. Well she can, but she shouldn't. Never send anything to the NVC unless they say it has been generated or unless they request it.

You should have her email them which is faster or you can have her mail it to you asap and then once it is generated you can mail it to NVC. Good luck

ds2032 easy way is email NVC without waiting for them to to mail the actual letter to you.

it cut your waiting time short by 1 month

i never heard the AVR telling me that anything has been generated. After a couple of days of hearing the #######, i decided to call and get my IIN. big mistake calling in the afternoon EST. they wouldn't give it to me. well, the lady didn't even probably know what that was. anyway, i waited again to call around 11 pm EST and this really nice lady just told me to hold on while she looks, then asked if this is for the AOS bill, then gave me the number right away, no problem!

so then i logged into the payment website, saw that the AOS fee bill status showed INVOICED, i went ahead and paid it. it is now IN PROCESS as i type this.

4 hours later i checked NVC's AVR, it finally changed to "we have received the AOS fee bill July 30, please wait blah blah blah weeks.."

BUT, i tried emailing the DS-3032 for my husband and i can't get an automated response.

did i jump too far ahead with this one since i didn't wait for them to generate the DS-3032??

I DONT RECOMEND TO SEND THE DS3032 BY EMAIL, IS SAFER TO SEND IT BY MAIL... IT HAS BEEN PROVED THAT THEY ENTER IT TO THE SYSTEM FASTER WHEN IS MAILED INSTEAD OF EMAIL... IT DOESN'T CHANGE YOUR TIMELINE AT ALL... Edited August 6, 2008 by Yiyi and Chris
