Hello,

My I130 and I129f was approved on 17th july and today which was 23rd i called nvc and they told me that

they have sent my I-129f to Pakistan Consulate In Islamabad today on the 23rd but i am suprised they did not ask me for the affidavit or anything yet and the I-129f has been sent to Islamabad and i am thinking they will send the NVC package to my lawyer in 6-8 weeks but if i go with the I-129f which has been sent to the consulate then i can bring my wife here and do the AOS here in America So please let me know what could be the reason for not asking for anything and sending my I-129f there directly ???

OK sorry for the long message.

Thanks

Tom

Hi Tom

K3's generally only stay at the NVC for a few days and are forwarded to the embassy in Islamabad. The embassy will send packet 3.5 to your wife with instructions of what needs to be submitted to the embassy. When packet 3.5 is completed and returned to the embassy they will then send your wife packet 4. Packet 4 contains instructions for her medical and her interview date.

Right now you can complete you I 134 affidavit of support for your wife. Go to the Guides on this site for a K3 visa and they tell you information that is very useful. Also, look at the flowchart for a K3 that will give you an idea of the process.

Good luck to you and your wife

peace

~kris

That is how the process works. The I-129F for the K3, once approved by USCIS, gets sent directly to the consulate, and your wife will be sent information on what is needed next. Had it been the I-130 that was approved, then it would languish at the NVC for a while, and THEY would send YOU the request for the affidavit and so on. The process for each petition and visa is different.
