I am just wondering what exactly do they check at NVC? background for the USC? or Beneficiaries? what other security check have to be clear at NVC?

For a K1....nothing!!!

They assign a case number and pass it on to the Consulate in the foreign country.

Thank you.. my petition has been there since May 11 2006. I called today they told me that it takes 2 to 4 week to process. I already had my Case number.

I received my Noa2 April 13th, My petiton was at NVC on the 28th. I called NVC today, and thank you God it is on its way to the embassy. It took such a long time, I was started to get worried.

5 whole days. It'll be on the way to Bangkok in only a few more days. It can be as long as 3-4 weeks from the time the NVC sends the appproved petition until the IV unit in Bangkok recognizes that they've received it.

My understanding is that the NVC orders whatever security checks are required at this stage, to save a bit of time, but does not wait for the report(s). The report(s) goes to the consulate.

I called the embassy in London today and they told me that they received our case on 12th May...that is the same date that the NVC told me they had sent it to the embassy, so i wouldn`t worry, yours is probably on its way to the embassy.Seems like there is alot of confusion at the NVC and the dates that they are giving or not giving just don`t add up.Good luck

I spoke with NVC yesterday and I talked with a REALLY nice lady.......she explained that they assign a case number and forward it directly to the embassy via DHL and electronic case transfer. So...your embassy probably already has your case. You can call them to confirm........

Congratulation to you. Glad to hear the good news from you. Seem like NVC has many different answers. I spoke to a man at NVC yesterday. He told me, it will be forwarded 5 to 10 days after they received the approval petition. So, I just don't know what to believe now. Also, tired of calling them, always have different answer. Big confusion for me. The bottom line is...Good Luck to all of us who waiting this process to be over.
