Another long journey just started!

my package left NVC on 07/02/08 to the consulate in China, according to the DOS will take 4 weeks to 2 months to just clear customs and get to the consulate. And another few months for P3 and P4 to be sent to my husband. The estimated wait time to get an interview appointment is at least 4 to 6 months or even more. Endless wait!

Have faith! The consulate in Guangzhou is moving along much faster than in the past. Take a look at my timeline. I was prepared for much longer times and we were so surprised and pleased by how fast things have been going. Remain confident. When did your papers leave NVC? Have you tracked them on DHL?

NVC told me the package was out on 7/2, and DHL shows no package was pick up till the 7th, and has delivered on the 16th. when i called DOS yesterday, they told me the package will not get to the consulate in 4 weeks to 2 months.

From NVC to Consulate receiving was about 6 weeks. Then it took almost 2 weeks before my wife got the P3. This seems to be about the average now in Guangzhou. Based on this, your husband should be getting the P3 about the first part of September. Thank God yours was not one of the apllications that sit at USCIS for six months last year. There are many that had to endure this ghastly wait. Be thankful that you are as far along as you are and remain confident for your husband.
