Now, now, play nice!

Playing nice, based on her earlier posts of what she's into. (Young college-aged girl back-n-forth between NYC and SPB.... of course her interests are going to be hugely different from others on VJ.)

Slim, for clubbing and djs I'd actually suggest Moscow. Surprisingly though, I have seen people who fit the Russia forum profile while I've been out, so you never know.

Moscow is ripe with clubbing and DJs. I was impressed when I was there. Always something to do.

And what is this "profile" you speak of?

Actually I am done with NYC permanently and work in SPb full time now.

It depends what kind of clubbing and djs you're into. The kind of club where you have dress up and pay a ton of money and deal with face control... yes. I hate it.

I hope that you'll take your ladies to classy places... you know, ones with working toilets and everything.

 I may have to sacrifice working toilets to avoid the face-control police not letting me in. I can't dance, and don't really like loud music either. On the upside, I hold my booze (and water) exceptionally well for a geezer my age, so maybe toilets aren't really necessary.:rofl::rofl: Are there any particular djs I should be aware of??

I must admit, my wife absolutely loves the "disco". I on the other hand avoid it with a passion. I have been trying to take her at least once per month, drink some beer, and do something that resembles having a seizure on the dance floor. She's nice enough to lie to me and tell me what a great dancer I am. Then again, I do remember seeing a lot of guys at a disco in Lviv that all seemed to dance a lot like Mick Jagger (not that there's anything wrong with that), so maybe I'm ok.

Wife's visa journey:

03/19/07: Initial mailing of I-129F.

07/07/11: U.S. Citizenship approved and Oath Ceremony!

MIL's visa journey:

07/26/11: Initial mailing of I-130.

05/22/12: Interview passed!

I got "feised" at a club in Moscow. (I think I was more "headed" because my buddy and I both had the trademark hooligan buzzcut.) Most of the places we went though, once they realized we were foreigners (and had money) they were more than happy to let us in.

I never had a problem getting in while accompanied by attractive women.

As far as being into a particular DJ or club, it doesn't really matter too much because when I'm drunk, I'm the best dancer in the world. (And it shows!)

sometimes even without working toilets, the face control still works. and i think being a foreigner now carries less cachet than it did 5, 10 years ago.

:rofl: Thanks for the information, but it just doesn't seem fair. We obviously fit the profile, and I don't even insist on working toilets. It seems wrong that you still don't think I can get in to the imaginary disco just because of my rough exterior :crying: Are Russians so shallow? Surely not! Age descrimination? Please say it ain't so  You seem to know lots about face control, and discos, and toilets. What's a geezer to do? :help::rofl::rofl:

I actually like face control.

It's nice to be in the club dancing among nothing but gorgeous women and knowing also if you accidently bump into someone you're not going to get shot. America could learn something from the flat-heads manning the doors over there.

Sure, the ACLU would strike it down in a second, but we could argue if you want to dance with fat chicks and "gangstas" then you can go to the fat chick and gangsta club. The closest thing we have to that right now is a mandatory dress code but whenever I hear an advert on the radio for a party at a club and they say, "no hats, no tennis shoes, no jerseys and no white Ts" I avoid it like the plague because I can decipher the code.... "someone could get shot at this party so if you look like a knucklehead we're not going to let you in. However, if you're a knucklehead dressed nicely, come on in!" Thanks, ACLU.

Also, I don't think bouncers in America can actually beat people up.

Thanks to all who voted - interesting perspectives (disco discussion aside). I just plain was unaware of what a draw discos can be :P

I've been to both. One is more or less the same as the other if you ask me.

I can't say I have a huge desire to visit any particular Russian city - I'll go anywhere, but if they having diving, that's a plus.

PEOPLE: READ THE APPLICATION FORM INSTRUCTIONS!!!! They have a lot of good information in them! Most of the questions I see on VJ are clearly addressed by the form instructions. Give them a read!! If you are unable to understand the form instructions, I highly recommend hiring someone who does to help you with the process. Our process, from K-1 to Citizenship and U.S. Passport is completed. Good luck with your process.
