Vaccinations

Did any of your SO's have to have more vaccinations after they got to the U.S.? We went to get Gbenga's second Hep B and the lady told us that he has to have another MMR, another Tetanus(with diptheria and pertusis), a varicella, Hep A, etc. in order to apply for the AOS.

Is this true? Does he need more shots? And if so, does it have to be done at a civil surgeon's office or can we just go to my doctor's office?

I understand that you must have all the necessary vaccinations done and if you didn't complete it in your originating country then you have to complete it here. You do not have to get the shot at a civil surgeons office, but you must have a record of it and they will transfer it to the appropriate form.

The shots that I believe you need are listed on the I-693 under Vaccinations, which is section 5. They include:

DT/DTP/DTaP

Td/Tdap

OPV/IPV

MMR

Hib

Hepatitis B

Varicella

Pneumococcal

Influenza

Rotavirus

Hepatitis A

Meningacoccal

Human Papillomavirus

Zoster

The only one that we had to go and get was the one for the chicken pox, and the CO told us where we needed to go.

Usually it is the vericella that is not available over there that he will need here. If he had the chicken pox before you can ask for a titer test

instead of the shot , it will show he has immunity for it.

If you have the DS 3025 supplemental worksheet take it to the CS to transfer the shots onto the I-693.
