Hi All,

My cousin does not come on this forum, so i asking on his behalf. He is a Feb filer and after 5 months he got a touch yesterday and today. Today's touch acutally made an update on his case. They wrote that they sent a request for initial evidence. Does anyone know what the trend is, do they usually approve the case pretty fast after you send in that evidence? Or does it still take alot of time? Thanks all for your help!

It depends. If they sent him an RFE it means that they are working on his petition. If he sends them the further evidence they're requesting right away, they will most likely pick up where they left off and approve it a few weeks later.

thanks so much for your reply!

choochoo, i wud send in the requested information ASAP via express mail with a return receipt and a copy of all u sent. if u send it right away they wont just sit on it...hopefully they will respond soon...basically u dont want VSC to sit and slack...then they get lazy.....u know how they are :)

if the website was updated with more info needed....i wud also call USCIS to ask what is needed...this way u can start collecting the requested info before the letter arives...

Good Luck!!

My cousin tried to call to find out what further evidence they requested but they said they will not release that information over the phone. But when he called the automated message said no one is available at VSC, so they forwarded the call to the main customer service rep. So maybe if he tries to call again in the morning and speaks with a VSC officer, they might let him know.

thanks for the suggestions.

I have seen some people post it before and then someone gave it to me in PM. If you follow these directions the VSC people will pick up. but i think the timings are between 8:30 to 4. One time i called for my case right at 8:30 and some at VSC picked up right away. If you call in middle of day its like a long wait on the phone.

Called the 1-800-375-5283

Option 1,

Option 2,

Option 2,

Option 6,

Option 1,

ENTER receipt number

Option 1,

Option 3, Wait for "If our system"

Option 4,

After that option it will connect you to VSC.
