We asked this question in the AOS forum and only got the response with a link to some of the guidelines (which I have already read)

We just received a RFE for the I-693 medical exam. I had read here that most people send in the DS3025 and it works seeing as they didn't return our 693 and our medical is less than one year old.

Now I am kind of confused on what to do....I mean I could resend the ds3025 with the hopes that they just didn't receive it in the original paperwork or should I send something else?

Please help guys I am really lost and confused....What did you guys send in?

First, are you sure they are asking for the I-693 (full medical) and not the I-693A (vaccination supplement)?

If it's the I-693A, I believe most people have a civil surgeon transfer the information from the DS3025 to the I-693A. There was a civil surgeon in Texas doing this by mail for a nominal fee, I believe. You should be able to find his address in the AOS forum. We are one of a few that I know of (unless things have changed lately) who did submit the DS3025 instead of the I-693A, and it was accepted, but we took a big chance by doing that since that doesn't always work.

If it is indeed the I-693 they want, it's possible that they misplaced the original. It sounds like your only choices are to remind USCIS that your medical is less than a year old and hope they accept that (a bit risky, in my opinion, since you aren't really giving them what they asked for), to try to get a copy from the doctor in Jordan (time-consuming and possibly a big hassle) or, as Jackie advised, to go ahead and have a civil surgeon do a new one.

I'm the USC.

Hi Jade,

I think it all depends. With us we did a K1 and when I filed our AOS packet, I noted they had the original medical that was less than a year old. We never got an RFE. If they are asking I would first confirm if it's the supplemental (as someone posted earlier). If it is - great - but just be firm when you call to tell them you don't need the whole medical. The transfer should cost less than $100!

best,

Prena
