The US Consulate at HCMC has just sent my wife a letter stating that her new Interview Date is Aug. 26 instead of the date Aug. 8 stated in the interview letter from NVC. Not one explanation. I'm planning to have a trip back in Vietnam to pick up my wife and daughter over here in the States. I'm fortunate I haven't bought the plane tickets yet. Idon't even know if this new date is good or not... I'm not so sure about anything anymore. It's like dipping my excitement into icy cold water. Sooo disappointed!

Vietnam VJ members who have August visa interview, please let me know if anybody has this BS. Thanks.

Sometimes it could be a blessing... You'll never know! Just count your blessing brother!

I'm sure your case is fine, just more time for you to prepare and ACE this interview.

Are you sure you have EVERYTHING ready? REALLY READY? If you say YES, check again!

I would email and phone the Consulate. Ask to speak to a CO. Be polite but firm. You have every right to ask why the delay. It could be as simple as the CO staff has too many people out on vacation for the case load. I have found that talking to the Consulate can result in the results you want, especially if you're proactive and persistant about it.

In any case, as chuckandkim said, use this to make sure you have everything ready for the interview.

Good Luck
