Hey My PEOPLE!!

OKAY SO UPDATES!! MY FIANCE WAS RECENTLY APPROVED FOR THE I-129, AND THE NVC SENT ME THE LETTER THIS LAST WEEKEND!! I AM HEARING MIXED STORIES FROM PEOPLE SO I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR DIRECTLY FROM PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN THROUGH THIS THAT KNOW WETHER OR NOT MY FIANCE SHOULD WAIT FOR THE PACKAGE TO ARRIVE IN THE MAIL OR SHOULD HE TRAVEL DOWN TO LAGOS TO GO AND GET IT. THE LETTER FROM THE NVC SAID HE SHOULD BE RECIEVING IT SOON, BUT IF I KNOW MY COUNTRY NIGERIA IT IS THAT EVERYBODY IS PRETTY MUCH CONCERNED ABOUT THEMSELVES. SO SHOULD I TELL HIM TO GO OR TO WAIT PATIENTLY. YOU KNOW THAT IS MONEY WASTED TO TRAVEL DOWN JUST TO GET A PACKET, BUT IF YOU GUYS FEEL THAT IS THE BEST AND ONLY OPTION THEN I WILL LISTEN TO YOU! ALSO, HE WAS APPROVED JULY 9, 2008 DO YOU GUYS KNOW AN ESTIMATED TIME FOR THE LAGOS CONSULATE TO SCHEDULE AN INTERVIEW DATE FROM THE APPROVAL TIME.

Jan 13, 2008----Arrive in Atlanta POE

January 15, 2009--Apply for SSN Number

Jan. 23, 2009---Married

March 2 2008----Received SSN card

March 14, 2009---Got Driver's License

AOS TIMELINE

Mar. 30, 2009: AOS/EAD/AP filled

April 7, 2009 - EAD,AP and AOS NOA notice date

April 10, 2009 - received NOA1 hardcopy for EAD,AP and AOS

April 13, 2009- received Biometrics appt scheduled April 25, 2009

April 14, 2009-Biometrics walk-in done!

April 14, 2009-Called USCIS for AP to be expedited.

April 16, 2009-AP approved YES!!

April 24, 2009-EAD Card Received!!

Tell him to go pick it up. that would be his best move. If you wait for it, it will take forever. From there, they will schedule his interview.

I sent my husband to pick up the package due to the lack of street signs and addresses in parts of Lagos.

My husband went to pick up his package. I would wait atleast 5 days from its arrival at the embassy and then have him pick it up. If by chance it is not ready he can always find a cheap hotel off of the island and wait until it is ready. I would not wait for it to arrive in the mail.

what part of Nigeria is he from?? Is he really far from Lagos?

My SO went to the Embassy and picked his up, the interview date was assigned right then.

09/03/08 - Visa Approved!!!!!!!

09/10/08 - Picked up visa

09/20/08 - Arrived in the US - WHOOOOHOOOOO!

12/06/08 - Wedding

01/12/09 - AOS sent

He stays in Owerri...so yes quite far!
