Stop the bickering AND the personal insults, please.

A spade is a spade.

And a mod is a mod.

Get back on topic everyone, please.

People's opinions usually come from the place in life where they picture themselves.

You know - judgment and all that jazz. So easy to be critical of the rest of the world when the world is your oyster, don't you think.

Therefore I do believe I was on topic.

Some comments were addressed in a very personal way from more than one party in this thread.

By all means, people, make your POV in this case, but don't make the comments personal.

That's all. :)

Ah very good. I see.

I think that maybe I don't mind my poor, struggling, bitter life as long as it allows me to still use my intellect and exercise some sense of dignity towards my fellow man.

I also think that I don't mind being told I'm poor, struggling and bitter. I'm a big girl and can take care of myself in threads.

But thanks anyway. I'm sure the other parties feel better.

Seriously, in a country where we probably spend more on our pets than the apparent "drain" to the economy discussed in the other thread we can do better than this

We dress our poodles up in human-like clothing, and then we dehumanized actual human beings by shackling them up like an animal.

Anyone who owns a poodle should be shackled to a bed. And that's that.

And the poodle should be shot behind the chemical toilets ;)

The poodles should be freed and undressed - I mean, one has to draw the line somewhere Seis. They are hideous MoFos, but it's not their fault, really.

Who am I kidding. Shoot'em.

If we could only concentrate the masses into camps...put them into train cars.

Thankfully, the best practices document for doing that efficiently to a very large number of people is still in existence... somewhere in Germany.

We could in the meantime, sew a little Mexican flag onto their clothing.

Are you for real Steven? Isn't that a bit over the top? It is way off the mark buddy. About like the analogy of the border wall being compared to the Berlin Wall.

A little sarcasm that's no less absurd than how this poor woman was treated. There's no getting around the fact that being here illegally is not a criminal offense. Efforts to round them up is as absurd as my comment.

It is within the law to arrest and detain illegal aliens for eventual deportation. The USA has only done it millions of times in the past and will do it millions of times in the future. Without enforcement of the laws there is anarchy. Illegal aliens should not be allowed to dictate US immigration policy. Giving illegal aliens permanent residency undermines US immigration laws and is, in effect, an open border policy.

While guys like you seem to believe that is just groovy. It ain't. This isn't the 19th or even the early 20th century anymore. America is a modern industrialized welfare state and allowing open immigration from the third world is suicide. But guys like you hate America anyway, so that sort of scenario makes you happy. As for me...I'm not suicidal. ;)

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Agreed. It *IS* within the scope of the law to arrest, detain, deport...whatever. The laws ARE clear about that. But...this lady wasn't a threat at that moment. She was in the throes of childbirth. Have you ever witnessed such an event? Do you really think this lady was going to escape the clutches of the law enforcement agency dudes between contractions and pushing her baby out?

Just addressing the issue of this whole thread...how this lady was treated.

*scratches head*

Woman chained to bed while in labor = open immigration = suicide.

Modern math confuses me.
