If we could only concentrate the masses into camps...put them into train cars.

Thankfully, the best practices document for doing that efficiently to a very large number of people is still in existence... somewhere in Germany.

We could in the meantime, sew a little Mexican flag onto their clothing.

Are you for real Steven? Isn't that a bit over the top? It is way off the mark buddy. About like the analogy of the border wall being compared to the Berlin Wall.

"Credibility in immigration policy can be summed up in one sentence: Those who should get in, get in; those who should be kept out, are kept out; and those who should not be here will be required to leave."

"...for the system to be credible, people actually have to be deported at the end of the process."

US Congresswoman Barbara Jordan (D-TX)

Testimony to the House Immigration Subcommittee, February 24, 1995

Seriously, in a country where we probably spend more on our pets than the apparent "drain" to the economy discussed in the other thread we can do better than this

We dress our poodles up in human-like clothing, and then we dehumanized actual human beings by shackling them up like an animal.

I think it's possible to enforce our current employment laws without resorting to inhumane treatment

Indeed it should be. Of course when arguments about the illegal immigration problem are promoted in such a way as to justify inhumane treatment, people shouldn't be surprised when accusations of racism come to the fore.

But when my paychecks get smaller and smaller, I take aim at every single unnecessary drain on my income.

You 'take aim' at them by cuffing pregnant illegal women while they're in labor?

That's the point. Not whether illegal entry should be prosecuted or not. The question is how.

I was addressing the "Illegals are Good!" crowd and mindset - I wasn't addressing the specific incident at all. You wouldn't want to know my opinion on that.

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

Stop the bickering AND the personal insults, please.

A spade is a spade.

And a mod is a mod.

Get back on topic everyone, please.

People's opinions usually come from the place in life where they picture themselves.

You know - judgment and all that jazz. So easy to be critical of the rest of the world when the world is your oyster, don't you think.

Therefore I do believe I was on topic.

Anyone who owns a poodle should be shackled to a bed. And that's that.

The thread is about the specific incident.

Or are you saying you weren't being "on topic" :jest:

I believe the mod-lady would like to have a word with you. Please step aside.

I don't think you have to agree that "illegal immigration is good" to also think this kind of treatment should not be acceptable in this country. They are not mutually exclusive.

The nazi analogy may be overblown, though I doubt the woman would be treated this way if she was a white european person who overstayed their visa, like many do

Some comments were addressed in a very personal way from more than one party in this thread.

By all means, people, make your POV in this case, but don't make the comments personal.

That's all. :)

A little sarcasm that's no less absurd than how this poor woman was treated. There's no getting around the fact that being here illegally is not a criminal offense. Efforts to round them up is as absurd as my comment.

my dog has clothes but I don't dress her in them anymore because they can't be comfortable for her. I did knit her some sweaters for the winter for when we go for walks. I love my winnie more than I love illegals that's for sure
