ughhhhhhh...seriously if you are prepared to break the law then you must be prepared to face the consequences of breaking the law. I bet she's setting up her case right now to try to get permanent residence because she was mistreated.

Oh come on...even you should be able to see the stupidity of cuffing the leg of this woman while she laboured to have her baby. Sheesh.

what's that supposed to mean?

the leg cuffing was going too far but don't whine for being arrested if you're pregnant or not if you're illegal

precisely what I mean dear :) didn't you read my entire post?

yes but you said EVEN YOU like there is something wrong with me. if you have a problem with me I suggest you PM me

Ambor, being here illegally is not a felony and not an arrestable offense. They can deport you, but they can't throw in jail or imprison you unless the they are holding you for deportation.

they should have sent her back to mexico to have the baby

I guess either the leg cuffing is true or it isn't. If it isn't true - there is no reason to stop the police denying it right off the bat. If it is true they're probably working out a story..

Unless of course this lady has some sort of serious criminal history or something...

However a grand idea, I don't think the baby was willing to wait.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Of course it wasn't needed. They did it to dehumanize her.

It's what you do to the enemy during war. Mexicans are now the enemy; at least we're treating them that way.

If we could only concentrate the masses into camps...put them into train cars.

Any woman who has had a baby will tell you that trying to birth that baby takes all the energy and concentration you've got...I'm sure trying to escape between contractions and pushing was NOT on the agenda. Illegal or not, this lady didn't deserve that.

THAT was the purpose of my post...none other. I have no problems with anyone on VJ...not worth the energy it takes to "have a problem". :D

Deportation is actually a legal process; driving someone over the border and dropping them off would be something closer to kidnapping. So the Nashville police should have the power to deport people? Man, that's not going to be good.

More seriously, having a US born baby doesn't actually confer any benefits to the parents. Families get split up by ICE all the time.

Thankfully, the best practices document for doing that efficiently to a very large number of people is still in existence... somewhere in Germany.
