Hello, everyone!

So it's been 30 days since I filed I-751 to Vermont, still no NOA. I called USCIS today and inquired about my situation. They said they sent me the NOA July 14th and I should get it, but if I don't, I should make an infopass appt and require a stamp. At this point I kinda lost my hope of getting the NOA. They also gave me a case number and said they would send a duplicate, but I read on this forum that has never happened.

When I made the infopass, the only available date in August is the 4th, so I did mine for that day. I thought I'd wait another couple of weeks just in case I get the NOA and then i can just cancel my appt.

My question is, to those of you who have had to do this: can they deny me the stamp? I really need to get it on Aug 4th, since it's the only available day and I have to travel end of August and will be back mid September when my greencard expires and I don't want to take any chances.

Also, do I need to bring anything else along except my passport and greencard?

Many thanks

They shouldn't deny you - you can explain that you are traveling the end of August and won't be back until your green card expires and that you have no other opportunity to get the stamp. Bring the proof of your travel arrangements with you to support your need for proof of status. You shouldn't need anything more than your greencard and your unexpired passport. You could bring a copy of the canceled cheque if you have one but you shouldn't need it. Generally they state you should get your NOA within 30 days and you will be well over the 30 days when you have your appointment. And, if your NOA shows up in the meantime, you can always cancel.

“...Isn't it splendid to think of all the things there are to find out about? It just makes me feel glad to be alive--it's such an interesting world. It wouldn't be half so interesting if we knew all about everything, would it? There'd be no scope for imagination then, would there?”

Thank you, Kathryn41.

I have a copy of the cashed cheque, the post office receipt which shows the date when I've filed and I printed the receipt confirmation off the USPS website.

However, I don't want to purchase the plane tickets before I get the stamp, because, if for God knows what reason they say no (nothing surprises me anymore), then I'll not only mess up my plans but also lose a lot of money. You think that could be a problem?

Don't purchase the ticket but take your planned itinerary with you - you can get the print out of your plans from most sites showing the flight you want and the dates you plan to travel. You can explain that those are the flights you are planning to book as soon as you know you have the proof of status. I doubt you will have a problem, though.

That's a very good idea. I'll do that. And thank you for the encouragements. I feel much better.
