I loved your post. Save it and get it out for every anniversary.

Blessings for many more years to come,

Thai Mom

I agree with this, you should save that post. It was very sweet.

Happy Anniversary to you!! (F)

We did... We even ordered the DVD for the montage so we can have it as a memento. We're thinking of reproducing it and then give it to our friends and families so that they'll know what we really had to go through.

Thanks everyone for the greetings! You all made the celebration more special!

Timeline
Some years ago, I was a lonely person who hated the world for not finding the "Mr. Right" or some would call "prince charming". In the Philippines, my beauty is considered as "plain", "ordinary", "she's-not-so-bad" type of girl that's why I never had any luck in love nor given the chance to have a happy love life. I tried to be in relationships just so I can have someone to call as my "boyfriend", but everytime, it would turn out wrong, or things didn't work out because I was boring, or because they just needed to use me. My heart got broken many, many times --that I lost counting-- and mending it and picking up the pieces were never easy. I would sometimes ask myself "Am I that bad?" or "Am I that ugly?" And all the questions just to reason out why I always end up being dumped. After getting tired of being used, having my heart broken, and shedding tears, I finally have decided not to pursue luck in love. I told myself that if God has plans for me or someone He thinks I truly deserve, I will wait for it. I've decided not to look for love, instead, let love finds me. So for sometime, I was not in any relationships. I didn't mind being mocked for not having somebody to love me. I didn't care about the ridicules that I received for not having someone who'll be interested in me. I told myself, "as if I care... to heck with them". I was trapped in a lonely world and all I did was work-home, home-work. There were times that I longed for somebody to love me, or care for me... I'd be hypocrite if I'll say I never got jealous of other girls who paraded their boyfriends and change them like changing their clothes. But of course, I never showed any hints of jealousy because it will only give them more reasons to make fun of me.

Two years and 5 months ago, I subscribed to this dating website out of curiousity. I thought I would give it a try since a lot of my customers at the computer place that I was managing logged on to that site. After being a member for 1 week, and after meeting twenty Davids, twenty Joes, ten Gregs, fifteen Johns, etc, etc., I finally got bored and came up to a conclusion that dating website was not for me. I was about to unsubscribe and remove my profile when I got a message from a guy named "David"... yes, David again. I was like "Oh no... not again." I didn't want to be a member anymore but I have decided to check David's profile. He's very well spoken, honest about what he wanted and what he was looking for and most of all, we have so many things in common. I just found myself writing him a letter, and that letter was not a sweet-lovey-dovey kind. It was a straightforward one, telling him the good and the bad sides of me upfront. It was more of like a discouraging letter, like a test if he will still be interested in me. Surprisingly, he responded and he got even more interested to get to know me. And that's the day that my life was changed. It was a long journey for both of us and after going through a lot of obstacles and hurdles (including immigration, not to mention the distance between us), we made it successfully.

This day last year, I walked down the aisles and the two of us made our vows. This day last year, I was a nervous and excited bride whose dream finally came true. It has been one, blissful year in our marriage and we both could not ask for more. We had our share of misunderstandings, disagreements and arguments, but we managed to resolve them all. Those factors were what made our relationship sweeter and stronger. They will always be part of our life together.

So today, is our special day. It's a milestone for us and we're both hoping that God will bless us with many, many more years of togetherness. It has been a long, tedious and frustrating search for happiness for both of us. We can truly say that "the search is over".

To my husband David, I will always love you for all eternity. Here's to us! (L)

P.S. Here's the montage that I created for him: http://www.onetruemedia.com/shared?p=67445...medium=text_url He was in tears after watching it. :luv:

A great love story.. Your story made me reminded my myself back of the old days... We are in the same situation.. I am just a very ordinary, boring, plain, she is not so bad type.. Then I finally stopped loving someone and start loving myself completely, I moved to Kuwait not to find love or anything, I am just here to work with my goals and what I want in life.. to better the life of my families back home.. I had too many heartaches too and never expected that one day God will give me someone who can fully love me as I am and will never expect something in return.. I never joined any dating sites, because i think Ive lost all my confidence because of the past relationship and because I have met a lot people in Yahoo chats but non of them are serious...

I met my husband in the restaurant where I used to work.. He was our regular guest.. He really courted me like pinoy because he is a Spanish descent.. We get along well and decided to get married in Kuwait.. First year in marriage is tough because of language barrier but we work things out.. Yes we have arguments sometimes, but it does not last half day.

Well to much to say.. I just feel myself in you and cant help to remember the past..

Congratulation!
