Guangzhou is notoriously slow about opening their mail. You can expect an average wait of about 60 days. If it gets there sooner celebrate. You can call the NVC at 202-663-1225 after the answer input 1 and then 0 to get through the menus quicker. They will ask for your SO's name and number, which will start with GUZ . It is on the letter that you received from the NVC.

Best of luck

One thing you must learn during this process, is patience. More so with Guangzhou than with most consulates. Our application seems to have went through parts of the process faster than average and we are grateful for this.

My wife was not called or notified before getting the P3. She was concerned because many do get a phone call from the consulate, confirming the address.

I have had great luck with calling DOS. Each time I was able to talk to a live persin, they were polite, cheerful and gave me the information on our application and where it was in the process.
