chennai medical update from my husband

This story is for those who are going to Chennai for medical

on 8th july 2008,I reached Chennai at 6:30 am and i took prepaid auto (paid Rs:57)from chennai central railway station to Listers Metropolis lab,road no 13,jagannathan road,Nungambakkam hig road.

US consulate,is situated near to the lister lab,

Listers lab is on 1st floor ,i reached there at 7:00 am i collected the token number from token machine fixed on the wall ,token machine

is visible on left side of the lister lab entrance,its important to collect token number . after collecting token number

(wait for your token number to be called)i went to reception gave her my original passport,filled up medical cover letter ,one visa photo,original interview letter

receptionist gave me consent letter for HIV blood test,i filled in basic data and i signed it and returned the consent letter form to receptionist.

After entering details in computer ,receptionist returned my original passport and original interview letter.

there are few cabins like E.C.G,blood sample collecting cabins,customer service etc

Look at screen on the wall for your token number,,when your number gets displayed on screen ,go inside blood sample collecting cabin,they will take blood sample and ask you to pay Rs:800 fee at reception.you will get a receipt.

After paying Rs:800 they will call for the Chest X-ray.

and collect reports between 4:00pm - 5:30 pm

Note: go early in morning and don't forget to collect token number ( to avoid heavy rush go before 7:00 am)

At exact 4:10 pm i collected my blood test report and X-ray in sealed envelope

i took auto (paid Rs:40) and went to Dr.Sanjan John Clinic,9 Dr.T.V Naidu road,Chetpet,clinic is about 15 minute drive from lister lab.

A lady attendant at his clinic checked my weight and height and took the

reports,X-ray and my vaccination records (MMR,Vericella dose I and dose II,Tdap),one visa type photo,original passport,original interview letter

No token system at Dr.Sanjan John clinic.Later Dr. Sanjan John checked my Blood Pressure and completed medical history form.He returned my original interview letter and original passport

No vaccination shots for me as i already took all needed shots at Hyderabad.He gave me a brown envelope which

was UNSEALED and told me not to seal it. He further told me to take a photocopy of the whole set and take it to USA with the X-Ray.Consulting fee Rs:700, All done and

now set for the interview 28th JULY 2008.

My wife's interview is on Aug 11th at chennai consulate. Thanks posting the instructions. That is very helpful.

One question I had is How do you get all the immunizations before you go to the medical test? Does the list need to include the immunizations for the once mentioned in the interview packet? Do we take a letter or something like that from the personal doctor?

Another question is they mentioned we need to take a DD for $400 for the interview? This is not the same as what we paid during the NVC process right? This is in addition to that?

hello good luck to ur wife on her i ntervieew we will post out interview details after its done..

u get 3 vaccinations before going to the medical..

mmr

tdap

and varicella

just get on the hospital letter head what the doc gve u and take it for chennai medical..

then they will see what immunizations u got..

my husband had no immunization record so he was given the 3 shots..

he took the interview letter with him to show to the doc for vacinations and medical..

dont wory it will be all fine

we r in administative process for 4-6 weeks

WE R VERY UPSET

everything was fine paperwork, interview etc

we dont know she just told us and gave us a blue 221 g ppaper

She did not mention anything on why it is going to administrative processing? That is totally wierd.

ya i know we r very upset...

interview went fine.. she said i dont need to see anyting i trust u, and she said i am confident u will get ur visa BUT i need additonal time for reviweing ur case for 4-6 weeks...

so its been a week and half now...

i will keep yal posted and post more detials of interivew when i get back to US...
