I think it's a normal feeling on the first few weeks or months, I just hope she'll be able to cope soon. Subscribe to The Filipino Channel, might help while she stays home :) .

hi!

I agree with AllRightReserve, it is pretty normal ...

I suggest that you will search or look for any FILIPINO ASSOCIATION in your area. I think this will really help her because this kind of organization has activities like cultural shows and feast, karaoke and etc.... Once you find a filipino association she likes, maybe she can do volunteer work while meeting new friends. what do u think?

God Bless and hope everything is all well with you both!

It's 7 years or so since i lived in pittsburgh so i know it's the most diversified of cities (besides the CMU students) and McKeesport even less. Have you thought about putting an advert on Craigslist looking for friends?

I did a quick search and found the pittsburgh branch of filipino association...

There's also the La Filipiniana restaurant in Lawrenceville and Squirrel Hill....

BYOB too, oh I miss that in Pittsburgh!!!

Hi Jimmy, sorry to hear of your wife feeling homesick. It should be normal specially that she's very new there. It will take awhile until she feels at home in her new place and country. I even feel homesick now even if I am still in PH :D Maybe you can find some outdoor activities to do together during weekends. That might help. Just a thought. ;)

Hi my wife and I are in SW Pa. Cindy is her name and she's Filippino. We've been married for 7 yrs and she's been here for 6 yrs now. We are also Western Pa agents of LBC. She mostly does that to meet other Filippinos. We just went to Jersey City last week, were they have both stores and a bakery(Philippino). Her e-mail is stronglegzz@yahoo.com

Thanks Bill W
