I am leaving for Kiev, Ukraine for my wife's interview scheduled for the 28th of August.

The lowest Price Quote as of today: $1600.00 RT, to Ukraine.

I checked Hotwire.com, Orbitz, NWA/KLM, LOT, TravelZoo.com, and Priceline.com.

Does anyone have a travel site or travel agent with lower pricing?

I can fly out of: FWA, IND, DTW, ORD, TOL

Departing on the 24th, or 25th of August. Returning anytime between August 30th - September 1

Thanks, in advance, to ALL who reply.

My fiance is also planning a trip to Kiev at the end of August. We've been looking at Kayak.com and found tickets for JFK-KBP for $1000-$1300. Check out for your airports of choice. They usually have better fares. Best of luck!

I hate to say it, but $1600 is a very good price for round-trip to Kiev from the Midwest. I'm flying over in 10 days to bring my girl back with me, and the ticket prices have doubled since my last trip in May... :(

I'm flying AeroSvit from JFK to Kiev. They have a deal with JetBlue, if you take a cheap JetBlue flight from your airport to JFK, they will refund you $100, which usually makes the JetBlue connection practically free. But it's still costing me $1500...

Actually, that sounds about right. You might be able to save a few dollars, but if that includes your short commuter flight in addition of flying to KBP you are doing pretty good. My stepson is now in Kyiv and it cost us $1,777 which we bought in February. That is of course from San Francisco to Kyiv.

We also had a three hour drive to San Francisco to factor in. At least he's building frequent flyer miles, assuming those will still be around in the future.

bite the bullet and come back on the second of Sept. Priceline had flights at 1,063 RT and Luftansa flies RT at 1,313 (all out of Chicago) go to Kyak.com since they canvass many sites to come up with the best pricing. Out of Detroit I saw the RT price at $1,100

Try Airgorilla.com, I found one flight out on the 25th and back on the 1st for $1083.93 + $120.52 (taxes) $1204.45 total. Make sure you check the taxes. Some of the cheaper fares have higher taxes due to stops and the higher initial fare ends up being less expensive. Good luck, we are going next week.

No longer in the hands of the USCIS, for my wife at least, next up MIL.

Yikes, those prices you guys are quoting are outrageous!

Did you try amta.com? I've always booked my international flights through them (last 5-6 yrs) and saved a couple hundred versus the typical expedia, cheapair, etc.

If you leave end of August, and return first week of Sept, the return date is what is going to save you $$.

I found a flight for $842.88 out of Chicago ORD, here's the details.

Austrian

592.99 USD + Est. Tax 249.89 (Regular fare )

Date Departure Arrival Airline Type

Outbound flight

AA158 25/08/08 17:15 Chicago (O'Hare Intl.) 12:15 Moscow (Domodedovo) Boeing 777

UN201 26/08/08 17:50 Moscow (Domodedovo) 18:10 Kiev (Borispol) Boeing 737-300

Return flight

OS664 08/09/08 11:10 Kiev (Borispol) 12:15 Vienna (Intl.) Fokker 70

OS461 08/09/08 13:25 Vienna (Intl.) 14:50 London (Heathrow) Boeing 737-700

AA91 08/09/08 16:45 London (Heathrow) 19:20 Chicago (O'Hare Intl.) Boeing 777

Good Luck :star:

For our interview, August 7 I flew round trip from JFK on Air France for $1128 direct from their website. They DID lose my baggage going AND coming though! Take your documents on the plane with you and never let them out of your sight! :) I can recommend a very low priced parking option for JFK if you go that route. Of the airports you list I would expect ORD to be the cheapest.
