And there you have it - an honest woman!! Most of you are terrible liars when it comes to this subject. Being the steady-eddie nice guy type, I've lost count of the number of times female friends have cried on my shoulder, complaining that their men treat them like #######, give them the runaround etc. So why go out with a guy like that then? Because they love it, that's why!

Treat your woman right, with respect, and genuinely care = lots of "just good friends" type encounters and a life of struggle to get laid.

Treat them like ####, fool around on them = more poontang than you can shake a stick at.

Women don't like the narcissism, they like the confidence that tends to go along with it. It's like wondering why guys go after crazy women who are hot. It's ain't the crazy, it's the hot. "Women only like abusers" ####### is just that, #######.

Also, a lot of times the guy who insists "but I'm a niiiice guuuuy," is a passive-aggressive manipulative creep who uses "friendship" as an ulterior motive to get in some girl's pants

But to be honest, I find a lot of the nice guys I know end up with the biggest bitches out there.

No they are usually not. They tend to be average looking yet overconfident, self-absorbed, very bossy, bitchy, daddy's little girl types.

Actually I have always joked that at least if they where the model type I would understand.

Sooo true! Although you forgot 4) the nice guy is too picky and/or holds out hope for female friend for too long and so doesn't take the opportunity to find other women.

Lots of short term relationships sounds about right. I wouldn't say that it means that girls prefer them, or that they're lying about numbers, though. It says to me that either they're completely incapable of maintaining a long-term relationship or that they have no desire to. In contrast every single truly 'nice' guy I know has ended up marrying only their first or second girlfriend and been very happy.

Many of my male friends went through a whiny phase where they were convinced women only dated #######. But then they, well, grew up, and sometimes: got a job, got in shape, and just went out more and got more practice talking to women. (And sometimes realized that they had unrealistic expectations, too.)

Some guys maybe like that but it still does not change the fact that a lot of women are drawn to the type of guy mentioned above. So who is the bigger fool? The fool or the person who dates him..

Edit. I have seen more girls date wankers than guys date bitches. That's for sure. Probably a ratio of 10:1

I guess I just find it interesting that you seem to be much more perturbed by the women who seek out these types of men than the men themselves who are the wankers in the first place. If I'm not mistaken, your theory is that these women (and women in general) are either less intelligent, less confident, or both. Faults to be sure. But is that any worse than being a narcissistic psychopath? I think not.

Thats as I see it also - I remember at college there was a pretty big difference between those who were able to function socially and the introverted types who didn't socialise and spent all their free time in the library.

I imagine that if a guy is outgoing and flirtaceous (i.e. having no fear of actually talking to the girl and asking her out) its a fair bet that he's going to stand a better chance of getting a date than someone who just sits around agonising and fantasising over what to say.

There's this romantic cliche of "the silent type" and while it might work in movies, in real life you have to make an effort to put yourself forward or noone's going to notice you.

I think there's more to it that just the fact that "those types" of guys are more willing to put themselves out there. I've had girlfriends who will break up with a guy for being to available or too eager or liking them too much. I think there's the thrill of the chase at work here as well. Not to mention all those stupid relationship books and their "rules".
