Hello Chicagoans and all those of You nearby,

Thought I'd bump this thread because I realize time just flies and I am no good at making plans waaaaaayyyy in the future.

So there I was wondering what is happening and where and searched to find the date and place.

September Second

11:30 am

Denny's...

oops please look back for the address.

Is this still a go?

I will be there and am looking very forward to meeting all those that show up.

Yoohoo!!!

If anyone is around downtown Chicago (I am at the North end of Lincoln Park), please let me know...

:star:

Dear Jomo's Girl: I laughed so hard - with great respect - about your sweetie's fear of tall buildings.

Did you take him to the top of the Hancock? I love that view (of the Lake) and yes, the height scared me too.

I am used to be at sea level.

Oh I would give this all up in a heart beat and go live on my beloved Gulf Islands or Sunshine Coast B.C.

Just waiting to see if i can get my partner on board....tic toc tic toc.

Living in any megalopolis is uncivilized.

The more I sink into the feeling of the BIG city, the more I am longing for quiet.

Well, in truth I always long for quiet, that is why I sail.

I sit on the bus (because I have yet to find a bicycle I like on craigslist), and observe...traffic, mayhem, honking honking honking (the Chicago greeting, I call it), busy, busy, busy, line-ups for everything everywhere.

I find my moments of peace and it always has to to do with being in a big park and/or near the big body of water.

Me and my big stick have become a common sight around these parts.

The contrast of where I come from is great.

I still need to create a groove for me here...have not been here long enough to do that yet.

It will come....or not.

I just wanted to say that due to the health issues I have been through lately and all the work days I missed, that I need to withdraw myself from that meet up.

I won't be able to make it.

Sorry.

Anyone that wants to take over or re-schedule another one, feel free.

I wish I was in Chicago. I love that city with all of my heart.

Its gorgeous.

I'll be there in two weeks for lollapalooza. :D

Oh... just noticed this... how was that weekend?

I had the misfortune (or inattention to current events :P) to end up driving along the street beside Grant Park just as things were starting to get going. Took forever! But nowhere near as long as people were standing in line to get in... the line looked to be about a mile long!

I had planned a really special romantic dinner that I was thinking of doing on the lawn at the planetarium, but the lollapalooza traffic messed that up :P We ended up going to a north beach and it was pretty much perfect, so no real loss.

It was awesome! Thanks.

I had a blast, and luckily my husband and I are early birds and avoided any sort of line up by getting in early.

But it was an amazing weekend. Looking forward to doing it again next year.

On the thursday we went to this really nice bar in Wrigleyville called the gingerman to meet up with some lolla board people. It was good times.

Donne moi une poptart!

Hee, hee.

Oh look how things can ebb and flow.

I am suffering with this tooth thing and so...

Perhaps for me it is not the best time too.

To anyone who shows up today and THEN checks back here, I regret not showing up, and would like to create a possibility for a future get-together.

Let me/us know!
