I caught this in an inspirational mag I used to read every month and this is the latest issue. I just thought of posting this coz it might be an enlightenment and realizations for couples and perhaps it might help to others who are in "trouble" now. I love to remember this when I am in your shoe soon...I'm almost there...

AFTER THE PASSION STAGE, the first stage in marriage comes the Realization Stage. Here are some suggestions on what to do during the second stage.

MAKE LOVE HAPPEN. Your blinders are now off and it's normal to feel let-down. Instead of waiting for love to happen, make it happen. Continue to make time for sex,for romance, for checking in with each other. It is more important than ever.

UNCOVER YOUR HIDDEN MARRIAGE EXPECTATIONS. We all have them. So face up to your hidden marriage expectations, sort the reasonable ones from the unreasonable ones, and talk them out with your spouse.

BE YOUR REAL, FULL SELF -- AND LET HIM BE HIMSELF, TOO. Research has shown that when you act as friends as well as lovers, you'll have a happier marriage. Learn to be more genuine, more empathetic and more accepting.

LEARN TO TALK CALMLY AND CONFIDENTLY ABOUT YOUR NEEDS AND WANTS. Clamming up in order to keep the status quo won't make the situation better. Learn how to speak assertively so that you'll be heard without criticizing or blaming your spouse.

Myla and I have been married for 8 months now and the passion is burning as ever :) so NO AFTER PASSION STAGE for us and we are both hoping it will not happen. I promised my wife I will make love to her when we are in our 70's lol.

In the last 8 months that we have been together we learned more and more about each other. We have weathered the minor challenges that came our way and our bond is stronger than ever. I am more inlove with my wife and life is such a bliss with her.

I am so lucky to be married to a Filipina

if i may add a suggestion for couples. try get the book "LOVE AND RESPECT " - the Love she most desires, the Respect He desperately needs. by Emerson Eggerichs

based on the verse EPHESIANS 5:33 - apostle paul's words in relation to God's command for the husband and the wife.. you'll be able to find out why God is COMMANDING NOT JUST SUGGESTING THIS to the husbands and wives

"However, each one of you also MUST LOVE his wife as he loves himself, and the wife MUST RESPECT her husband." - EPEHESIANS 5:33
