Hi

I'm looking into doing an Alternative Teacher Certification prorogram, the college has asked me to check that there would be no issues which would prevent the Texas State Board of Education and Certification from allowing me to be certified.

They told me to call the SBEC, but the SBEC told me to ask the college, so I'm stuck in a loop!!

My resident status is Conditional Permanent Resident (marriage based) and it is about another year before I can apply to get the conditions removed

I can't see that there will be any problems, but I thought I'd check here to see if anyone knows?

I think you should be fine. I teach in IL and have serveral friends teaching in may different states who are not American citzens. What are you going to be teaching? My friends took the praxis test after one year. Her in IL we need the IL certification tests. I really dont know about Texas but I think your okay. Sorry that I could not really help a lot to clarify things. Just my thoughts on the topic. Good Night Take Care and Best wishes
