I tend to agree. Yab claimed that people did come forward and leaked information about this being an inside job. I just want to know who exactly the insider(s) that came forward is?

Exactly. What was NORAD doing that day? Even if they weren't paying attention, something should have been done by the timte the first plane had hit the WTC.

I agree with Fishdude, though, that regardless of what happened on 9/11, it is the Iraq War and everything surrounding it that should be the focus of our attention.

But without 9/11 there would not have been support for a war with Iraq. They told Americans that Saddam was involved in 9/11. The problem with protesting the war is that one day the war will end(maybe) and then where do you stand? You need to protest the war machine not just the war.

But there never really was a big support for making war with Iraq. As soon as it started, protests were seen across America....not all Americans supported it, and not all Americans opposed it. It wasn't supported at all like Afghanistan was.

Totally. Anyone who does not see the connection misses the point, but it is easier and more convincing to make an argument concerning the reasons and causes for the Iraq war and point to the massive failures of the government in this respect which are already documented than focusing on that which we suspect in regard to 9/11. I think if you want to argue that we should not underestimate the government and that we need to mistrust them, you can show that much more convincingly by talking about the Iraq War. 9/11 and what happened will come out of that automatically.

Well there was plenty of support for the war. There still is. Sure there are plenty of people that don`t support the war but as long as they had some support and could get the media on side(easy enough) then they can go to war and get the people to pay for it with a huge national debt.

Everywhere i go i see support our troops car stickers still and during the height of the war there were plenty of pro bush car stickers. After 9/11 it was patriotic to invade countries and kill babies after all. All in the name of those murdered people at the WTC.

It is hard to get actual numbers. A lot of people in the army are there because they are of a certain intellect or a certain violent disposition or perhaps they are turned into viiolent people. I am not suggesting that they are all dumb violent people but there is an element of that. There was at least one soldier i recall who refused to fight. Maybe there are more. Getting a figure on that is tough.

as a retired member of the us army, i take offense to that blanket statement. every officer in the military has a degree. a large percentage of the enlisted have degrees or are taking college courses. painting the military as a bunch of bloodthirsty cretins is highly inaccurate.

I know a few people in the military. air force, navy, marines, or otherwise. they are very intelligent and peaceful people. i don't buy that for a second, yab.

there are violent people who are athletes. should we assume a lot of people are into sports because they have violent tendencies?

There is actually a procedure that has to be done before a commercial or private plane can be shot down by the government. American Airlines tells it's pilots that if they are hijacked they can and will be shot down WITH presidential approval. He has to give the word. Remember that the events of 9/11 were all over in about what? 3 hours tops? It was mass confusion. The air traffic controllers had NO clue what was going on. It was to put it mildly, a clusterf*ck. They scrambled the jets to shoot down flight 93. It was too late as the plane crashed before they reached them. (which some people who believe in the conspiracy are going to argue that point to the death). Mass confusion. I think that sums it up best as to what happened that day. Which, incidentally, is what terrorists want: confusion and terror. I think they succeeded with that (and with these theories that float around harboring distrust in our own government) Congrats Bin Laden: You won.

I said a lot not all or most. I also stated that the job itself attracts an element of violence. What are your friends reasons or excuses for joining the armed forces? To meet people? To make enough money to go to school? To get out of *insert boring town name*? Sure some of them might have degrees and ###### but a degree is not how i personally measure intellect. Plus again i am not saying ALL are dumb i am just saying that there are a lot of poor uneducated people in the army because that is how the army works. Just watch the ARMY adverts and see how they try to appeal to people.
