Hi everyone... so maybe I am obsessing, but I sent my K-1 petition June 20th with DHL (the tracking says it was received at the Vermont Service Center June 23rd)--but today is July 19th and still nothing. Is this normal or has anyone else had to wait this long? I have checked other timelines who submitted their petition around the same time as me and they have all received their NOA1. Should I worry or should I stop whining? :)

Thanks!

I would definitely contact them to make sure the have registered your case. I don't want to make you even more stressed, but I received my NOA1 from the Vermont service center in much less time despite the fact that they had to send it all the way to India and had both the street number and street name wrong on the envelope...

There seems to be some sort of delay with this out of Vermont at the moment..there are quite a few in this boat... I hope they get it together soon! Nothing worse than worry that it's gone missing..

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Can you get a copy of the signature from DHL online? You might also want to call USCIS to check if they have received your file because if it is more than 30 days, they will be able to give you the case number over the phone. It may also be a while for them sometimes to get the NOA1 out. I have seen some people here on Visajourney get it after 1 to 2 months. Just hang in there. Good luck with your journey.

We received our NOA1 a month later after sending them via Fed-Ex.. I wouldn't worry but be sure to give them a call to find out what the deal is. My SO sent in the incorrect free thus the reason for the delay. They don't issue them as quickly as they used to.

Hi guys. We filed on June 11th. 2008. Got a receipt from the postal company that it had arrived at the USCIS. By July 13th we had heard nothing since then, no NOA1, no cheque cashed. So we called them last Monday and spoke to an officer. She checked the system and we were not on it. She said that it is very rare for an application to get lost but it does happen and it looks like it had happened to us. So we said we were going to refile in a couple of weeks.

Still to this day we have not received our NOA1. I have no idea what happened  And now it seems like it's happening to a lot of other people. I wonder what's causing this.

This just does not seem consistant, we were luck our K1 application was received at Vermont on the 30th June and we got our NOA1 on the 5th July and there was the 4th July Holidays in there as well, so it was a shock when it came through so quickly and we have even had 2 touches.

Hope that everyone gets their's soon

sending out good vibes to you all

I realize ours hasn't been as long as some people's but am also worried because I see that the majority of them seem to be issued within about a week or so.

Should I probably wait for 30 days then before contacting them? Will it just annoy them if I try to be pro-active and contact them now?

I seriously hope that we don't need to re-file... what a big pain in the ### it would be to put that thing together all over again... even though I have copies of everything (I hope!) I get pretty seriously stressed out about getting things in the right order, and organized and stuff

  • 7/7/08 -- I-129f sent
  • 7/9/08 -- I-129f received at CSC
  • 7/24/08 -- NOA1 (finally!)
  • 12/2/08 -- NOA2 (WOOT!!!!)
  • 12/8/08 -- received at NVC
  • 12/22/08 -- packet 3 (with packet 4 attachment instead of checklist :P)
  • 12/29/08 -- packet 3 sent back with bits and pieces that I pulled together to make up a packet 3
  • 1/5/09 -- actual packet 3 received, but found out by via e-mail that they were satisfied with what I had already provided
  • 2/10/09 -- found out via call to DoS that my interview is scheduled!
  • 3/16/09 -- interview!!!! APROVED!!!
  • 4/7/09 -- MOVE!!!!!!!!
Crossed at Detroit/Windsor Tunnel... pretty painless, about 45 minutes, inexperienced officer, asked for and received EA stamp
  • 4/13/09 -- Married in New Orleans!!!!!!!!
  • 5/30/09 -- Filed AOS/AP/EAD
  • 6/1/09 -- AOS etc received in Chicago

The NOA1 isnt important, it is the cashing of the cheque.

We waited a month, our cheque wasnt cashed so we resent, that first package never made it. The second package, our NOA1 got lost, we called and they told us we ARE in the system, and we knew the cheque was cashed, and we got a new NOA1 sent out and we got our number over the phone.

Kell I noticed you have confirmation that your filed got to CSC, You should be absolutely fine, but call after 30 days if you havent recieved your NOA1, Peace of mind is worth a HELL of a lot!.

I called the VSC today and they said they had received my petition June 23rd and sent the NOA1 June 24th! I feel like such an overreacting idiot...we filed through an attorney in Boston and it got sent there, so I was worrying about nothing. Sorry everyone! Definitely call after 30 days if you haven't received anything--(1-800-375-5283) it took about 15 minutes and made me feel whole lot better. But what is happening to me? It's like I live and breathe now by every little word about my petition...(sigh) And I just sent it! I know there is still a long wait ahead of me.
