Yes, all K1s are handled by the Frankfurt consulate so you can't really choose one.

I think I received my Pack3 on May5th, 2005 and my interview was on June 14th, 2005 so about five weeks later. BUT I think they are much faster now. I have read timelines of people that sent in pack3 and received the interview date for two weeks later. Once your case is approved it goes rather quick. Good luck and congratulations.

There is one question I have, where did you get your police certificate from, and was it in English and German?

Police certification will be in German (of course) - no need to translate if doing business with Frankfurt (or Frankfort ;) ) - they can read it.

I forget the 'ampt' you get it from - Karin can remind me... It's good for all of Germany by the way so if you've moved from Bundesland to Bundesland (or city to city) it's all covered on one certification.

My husband just applied for one at his local rathaus. I think it was about 14 euros. It will be in German. It generally doesn't need to be translated.

I was engaged to a German once upon a time. Been married for 4 years now.

Yes, you get the police certificate at the Rathaus/Einwohnermeldeamt or Kreisverwaltungsrefarat (whatever you call it).
