Hi all,

I applied for my AOS, EAD and AP at the same time to the Chicago office. We got the NOA1 dated 28th March 2006. I know that the AP doesnt require the biometrics and the biometrics are just required for the EAD and the AOS. That implies I cant have the EAD before the biometrics is done. So my questions are:

1) Does the biometrics affect the AP too? Usually, does the AP come before the biometrics or after it?

2) When they do send you an appointment letter for the biometrics, how long is it usually from the date you receive the letter, to the date your biometrics are done. This will enable me to keep my nerves calm.

Any kind of feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks and Regards,

I love you, Jamie

Vipul,

The biometrics required for AOS and for EAD are two very different things (although they may both be done at the same time with one appointment). It's unfortunate that the 'biometrics' for the EAD is called biometrics, because all it really is is a fingerprint and a photo used to make the card. So you're right - there can't be a card until the fingerprint and photo session has happened.

The AP document does not have a fingerprint on it. It does have a photo, one of the ones sent in with the application.

Yodrak,

Someone has posted on VJ that you can complete your AP application online if you have already sent in your AOS application. How would you then send a photo with your AP application?

Thanks! :luv:

Hi Rainman,

Not sure if you meant that comment to me or to Vipul. But yes, we have also just heard about how slow Orlando is, so we're going to have to apply for AP sometime in the near future. Aidan and I want to go visit his family sometime within the next year, and it doesn't look too promising for him to get a greencard by then. :(

Vipul you in TX right?

yea LMR, I am in TX.

Hello Everyone, and Thanks for your feedbacks. It seems, this phase of the journey, too is unpredictable as the first one.

I just wanted to know if there is anyone who applied for the AP, and got it before the biometrics for EAD and AOS were done. I know these three are separate applications, but still just wanted to know. I am planning on a trip to india, but am just curious, as I havent heard from the USCIS and its almost 50 days now.

Thanks again,

Regards,

Vipul

I love you, Jamie
