I filed my 1751 to the vermont service center on 07-07-2007.Received my NOA dated 07-26-2007.Completed my biometrics on 09-12-2007.Last touched on 09-13-2007 after my biometric appointment. Some times in early march i decided to send them some additional documents to see if they can at least touch my file. This never happened and my case have never been touched again. On line status reads received and pending.I have a friend of mine in the same situation.I have never received any REF requesting for any thing. Now that the proccessing dates have changed from april to september, do i have to worry?

Wife just completed and passed her citizen interview last Thursday and we have been fooling around with the USCIS for almost six year now, never have I seen her case touched or updated in all those years for any application and that includes the I-751. So why worry?

Time to start worrying is when your one year extension runs out and the posted processing dates are a year earlier than your NOA date, but instead of worrying, I raised hell. You can get wrinkles and gray hair from worrying.

Hi, please correct me if I was wrong. On the website, the processing date of VSC is Sep 2007. I see that you filled your form on 07-07-2007. I think you should contact them. Good luck.

I read this post in the context of expecting to see something on your online status, what I said is very true, but didn't pay much attention to the dates.

The really big question is when does your one year extension expire, when it does, you cannot work, travel, or in some states, even have a driver's license. We were in the same boat as you are checking on your dates. If you filed on 07/26/2008 and Vermont claims to be processing cases 09/23/2007, you are already well over 30 days overdue, almost 60 days now!!!!!

And if you did file 90 days early, you only have a month left, do not expect the USCIS to catch this and make amends, they don't work that way, you have to take action yourself, and now!

Go to

https://infopass.uscis.gov/info_en.php

now and make that appointment, gather all your evidence and also print out your case online status. If you have a current valid foreign passport you have to bring that with you to get an I-551 stamp so you are here legally. If you don't, you will need two passport type photos to get an I-94 card, they have that form at your local field office.

Then find out where you stand, very possible they lost your application along with all the evidence you have sent in with it, know of a couple already that has happened to. Your US citizen spouse can also contact your senator or congressman for assistance, but that takes at least a couple of weeks, and it doesn't appear you have that kind of time to waste. So make that infopass appointment, NOW!

Some people on VJ were past processing times. It is not normal-there is something wrong with the process. Just name it-lost file, you never got RFE, clearance is still pending, etc. I would schedule Infopass and would send a letter since you are more than 30days behind. Some people here had a good experince contacting your congressman. Sounds like a routine process for senators/congressman to respond to this letters.

Dont loose time-you might never got a letter from them (and online it might not been touched-happens often).

Your only worry should be keeping yourself legal and ensuring your proof of status does not expire. Otherwise, I would recommend accepting that this is how the USCIS functions.

That said, the USCIS website does state:

If at any point your case should become more than 30 days outside our normal processing time, and you haven't received a written decision or update from us within the last 60 days, you can help us by calling customer service and letting us know. We will research your case, see what needs to be done to get it processed, and get back to you with an explanation.

My I-130 application went 6 months past the date online without rhyme or reason. These things just happen.
