Funny how none of you can cite examples of blatant conservative of liberal teachers when you were in school? I'm 43 and could cite plenty.

I've had teachers where it may have hinted at where they stood politically (not that many really) but none who ever tried to push it on anyone.

I can also say the same.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

alienluvchild, I'm wondering if you are thinking that if a teacher teaches a moral value to their children, it has some kind of hidden political agenda?

I'm wondering how somebody can't figure out enough about the methodology of a survey to ponder the validity of that survey.

I'm also wondering how an entire group of adults can't remember a single example of a political statement by a teacher during their lifetime. Some there were some incidents but it wasn't "pushing" an idea. Apparently the study is wrong because there are neither liberals or conservative teachers or teachers never utter a statement with political implications.

I'm just trying to figure out where you are coming from. It sounds like you had some bad experiences with your teachers. I don't know about you, but I didn't adhere to any specific ideology growing up, but was heavily influenced by my parents.

...speaking of braggard parents and Marxist teachers...hehehe...I have to share this. Job (our 7 yr old) had an eye exam and he put his shades on his baby brother. I swear he's spitting image of Kim Jong Il...:jest:

No politics before university (no time for such frivolities) and the only blatently left wing professor at Uni was an #######.

Yeah, I get the feeling mr love child had some unfortunate experiences while at school - of course probably we were all subliminally hypnotized by our 'lefty' teachers into thinking that we didn't get any political inflluence while all the while they were churning out mini liberals

Oh, more 'fuzzy' logic - no teachers complain about benig underpaid which supports the theory that teachers are whiners rather than underpaid.

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

I just had a prof that told us he is completely against abortion and we weren't allowed to do a speech on it because he is too biased to grade us fairly.

Also, in culinary school I had a chef instructor teach us how to make pot brownies just incase we wanted to get high

Proves my hypothesis that if you're liberal and your teachers are liberal you won't notice the flavor of the Kool-Aid you're drinking. You probably aren't aware education is a form of indoctrination. That's why both both the Nazis and Communists had agendas or that madrassas churned out students or "Taliban". Ignorance is bliss. Better to just engage in psychoanalysis rather than answer the question, huh?

Oh, more 'fuzzy' logic - no teachers complain about benig underpaid which supports the theory that teachers are whiners rather than underpaid.

Wrong, my poorly educated friend. How can you have a survey of political affiliation based on self-classification when income status is subjective. If teachers have main-stream incomes should half say they are overpaid as well as underpaid? If so how can you call yourself liberal or conservative without any context? I know, too many questions. It's better to be a passive learner than think about what somebody telling you. Better yet, parrot the previous poster since it's always easy to copy than post something original. Explains how you made it through school.

You are priceless!

Thanks. I wish I could return the compliment but since you couldn't muster a minimal response your opinion is worthless.

I would have to agree.

A general point too - sometimes its not what a person says but how they say it that determines how others behave toward them.

I'm often skeptical whenever I hear people claim to have been "shouted down" in a classroom for political disagreements. Supporters of biblical creationism for instance, often pull the "liberal bias" card when science faculties reject their pseudo-scientific theories. Its not hard to see the flaws in their arguments - and more specifically in the assumptions that they use to frame those arguments to see the flaws in their thinking.

You seem to have lost the ability to understand the words you are using as well as having a pretty slim grasp on gramatical rules. Never mind alien - the mother ship will come get you soon.
