Just a little complaining first. My wife arrived March 12, 08 with an IR1. She was told that the I-551 would be sent fast to her address here. Its been over 4 months so far, they have sent it to the old address, 2 times, that we changed over a year ago. the agancies dont talk to eachother and doent tell eachother that the address has been changed. I did all the correct paper work and sent it into the right people. But they have told me, over and over, that sometimes things happen and one agancy doesnt tell the other. Anyway, she still doesnt have it. She still cant get a drivers license in Texas, they REFUSE to recognize the temporay I-551 in her passport.

Now for the real question......

I know that I can get a dual citizenship in the Philippines without really being there, I have looked into it. I havent dont it just because I have a government clearance and they kind of frown on that. Is it possiable to get my wife a dual citizenship here in the US? She is an immigrant and has many of the same rights of us here. I work in Iraq and would love to have the chance of getting her there with me and working too. Actually I met her in Iraq in Jan 04. It was too dangerous and I sent her back to the Philippines. Now here we are. I have been IN country....Iraq..... 1654 days. Someone has to do it.

Since she obtained her permanent resident by being married to a US citizen, she will have to wait 3 years after her green card is issued to apply for US citizenship.
