I am not one of those who believe that we are in danger of a cataclysmic Global Warming which will doom the Earth. On the other hand, I do believe that destroying rain forests raises the level of CO2 which will be problematic long term. In the next 24 hours, deforestation will release as much CO2 into the atmosphere as 8 million people flying from London to New York [source]. So wiping with one toilet tissue and using more efficient light bulbs do almost nothing compared to losing one tree in a rain forest.

And the reason we are losing so much rain forest cover? Too fast a population growth. And the fastest growing population in the world? Muslims. The largest Muslim country in the world, Indonesia, with very little industry, became the third-largest emitter of greenhouse gases in the world last week. Similar destruction will happen in the only area of Africa that still has major forests: Central Africa. As the percentage and number of Muslims increase in those areas it will only get worse. This is not to say that non-Muslims do not destroy rainforests elsewhere in the world, Brazilians for example are almost as bad. However no one matches Muslims for babies per mother and mothers per husband.

Religion is a key factor in fertility levels. There is no shortage of posts that blame Islam's disrespect for women as a contributor to the high fertility rate among Muslims.

So, my leftwing friends, if you refuse to acknowledge that Islam poses a threat to American, will you at least accept the fact that Islam poses a threat to the world through Global Warming? Will Al Gore ask Pakistan to limit babies per mother? Will liberals stop sending food and money to Africa which only promotes more population growth and more destruction of forests?
