I'll be leaving Japan for the U.S. on K-1 visa in 3 weeks.

And about a month ago, I got a letter from the hospital that I had my medical check at

and it says that I need to have Human papillomavirus vaccine.

I have to have 3 times, the first injection is followed by a second and third dose two and six months later.

I have contacted a few hospitals here and they all said the vaccine isn't avaliable in Japan yet.

Since I cannot have the vaccine done here, I have to have it finished when I get to the U.S.

The problem is that it takes 6 months to complete all 3 shots

but I have to apply for AOS before my K-1 expires and I have to have all the vaccine completed when I do so.

I'm just wondering if I could have a waiver.

If so, how can I get a waiver?

Thank you.

K-1 expiration date means that you can enter US only once in 6 months after its issuance. K-1 expiration date does not relate AOS dead line. As long as you get married in 3 months after entering US, you can file AOS whenever you're ready. Actually, there's no specific dead line for AOS. USCIS just say "as soon as possible."

I don't know which part of Japan you live in, but Tokyo medical & surgical clinic has imported HPV vaccination. If you want to file AOS sooner, it would be worth to try ;) Though it's expensive in Japan....

Thank you very much for the reply.

Does it mean we can wait for AOS until I finish all the vaccines done

which will be next year?

On this site, it says you should file as soon as possible before K-1 expires

or you'll be considered out-of-status until you file so we don't wanna risk anything.

I need to submit the vaccination supplement when we file. Is that right?

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding??

Thank you.

->No, it's not correct. This site doesn't mention you should file before K-1 expiration (practically, K-1 expires when you enter US). Please read what I and u2rsobad wrote.

I need to submit the vaccination supplement when we file. Is that right? ->Right.

Or maybe I'm misunderstanding?? ->I suppose...

Thank you.
