Hello friends,

I am just ready to file my wife's AOS and have questions regarding the costs involved...

we have decided that filing the I-131 is not really necessary for her (by her decision) and I a now wondering if the total cost of the AOS is different... I read that the AOS fee for the typical full-file is $325 + the $70 for the Biometrics fee...

I know to attach my checks on the front of the file, but do I make ONE check for the whole package? ANd if so, what would be the AOS fee IF WE DO NOT FILE THE I-131? Or the same cost regardless if we file the I-131 or not... Also, I know the Biometrics fee is $70,...is that a separate check?

Another filing time....nerves are rattling.....I'm a stickler for details and thankfully, this site and you people always help!

Thanks a lot!

The fees are as follows:

I-485 (AOS) - $325

Biometrics - $70

I-131 (AP) - $170

I-765 (EAD) - $180

So for just AOS (no EAD or AP) the fee would be $395. You can write a single check for this.

We filed for everything and wrote seperate checks for the AP and EAD

You can combine the AOS fee and the biometrics fee in the same check. If you are applying for AP or EAD, those checks should be separate.

Every form has it's own fee, so if you are only applying for AOS, then you only need to submit that fee, plus biometrics. If you are applying for AP or EAD, then they have their own separate fees.

Good luck with the AOS process.

Todd,

The AOS fee is the AOS fee, the AP fee is the AP fee. (And the EAD fee is the EAD fee.) Whether you send the applications in one package or separately, or don't send the AP or EAD applications at all, they are separate submissions.

Sam and Maria,

Yes.

We filed for AOS 11/05, and unfortunately opted not to file for Advance Parole. It looks like we may be in for quite a wait for an AOS interview, and would like to be able to travel abroad soon.

Is it still possible to file for Advance Parole separately?

Thanks,

Sam and Maria
